    Make a difference this Christmas

    The wife handles the official charity giving... knight's table, sick kids, Sally Ann women/children shelter, etc.. I do "direct" donating... give out groceries, clothes, equipment, etc.. to homeless people.. things like that.

    I'm going to guess that the packages were redirected thru another carrier.. and the old CP labels just went covered when they were relabelled. Companies are redirecting their freight.. we redirected 94K packages last week. The "gig" couriers are going places they weren't before the strike...

    Purolator and Fedex are overwhelmed.. significant backlogs.. limiting what some customers can ship thru them... and turning away others. Same thing with some of the gig carriers.

    level 1 is more common.. but level 2 and full backgrounds are standard at a lot of companies.

    There's a lot more sketchy people making into the gig positions than Canada Post.. hands down. Some of the 'gig' carriers are good, above board companies that do background checks that are responsible for their drivers.. but a lot of them are layered in ways that intentionally keep the drivers...

    The "gig" drivers.. get paid as independent contractors and are paid piece work.
