    Harley new CEO

Triumph does entry machines, adv, cruiser, street etc. They keep a relatively happy dealership network and they drop models that don’t sell and introduce new ones. You can still get a Bonnie and tee-shirt to retro image yourself or get modern leathers and ride a street triple. They have...

    Is it just me?

I’m all for more model offerings than less. Even if they don’t strike an interest from me. I will say the RE Bear twin is more appealing from a “scrambler” look that is intended for the street. Thumpers can be fun but, it just doesn’t seem to look or do anything well. For example...

    Harley new CEO

I think the legacy positions of the board are the real issue from a business strategy stand point. CEOs still answer to another master and that is why one position being filled won’t make a difference. You look at successful brands in motor sports and they have diversity in their product...

    Help catch a theif

Hope they catch this pucker. A side note, I typically check their Facebook profile. New profile with nondescript profile pic, I simply block or ignore. Really sorry to hear this happen.

    TV shows currently watching

Slow Horses on Apple has been a pleasant surprise. Also binged Dept Q. Having low expectations helps but, I did find the quality of story line and character development good overall for both.

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

We took possession of our Ford Escape PHEV July 2 and it’s likely going to crest 5k before the end of this month. The battery range and hybrid system shines in stop and go and city driving. Even when the battery range is done, it manages to keep fuel consumption down to 4.5 l/100 kms at a...

    Hockey players acquitted

There are no winners from this outcome. A few take aways. I’m confident all parties regretted that night. As a parent, if either the young lady or any of the boys were mine, my heart would have sunk to find out they were involved. There was a lot of bad decisions being made that...

    Grimsby-SimplyMoto and Beyond

Avoid Niagara Falls during the weekends but, if you can ride during the week, following the water from Port Dalhousie to Fort Erie isn’t a bad run. Plenty of stops along the way. Timmies in NoTL, Chippewa for your bio and coffee breaks. From Hamilton, find your way to Font Hill. A few...

As much as I’m a member of gtam, my riding tends to be around the Niagara region. When I ride the gta, it’s for work and I’m hustling to get it done and back home. lol. Aside from that, I’m bikeless at the moment as well. Long story and still on the hunt for something to join the Spitfire...

How does financing and different interest rates work at bike dealerships?

They can basically do as they wish. There is the lender criteria and what stock the dealer is trying to move. If the machine is in demand, they do not have to offer the incentive. Or they may have a discount for service or merchandise at time of purchase but, the financing isn’t part of the...

    Darksiders beware...

Side note regarding waivers. Even with the hours billed to write one, most times they are not worth the toilet paper they are written on from a legal stand point. It’s just a speed bump and rarely protects from any liability.

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

Quick check in. 431 kms driven. 281 of those electric. 3.3 L/100 km consumption. Those 281 kms cost me less than $11 in electricity as I have a full charge of 60 kms of battery range. Electricity cost is including kWh of 11 cents and distribution and taxes bringing the cost to 18 cents...

What size of bike for 2 up ?

Never really gave it that much thought. Op grabbed a 650 Zookie to bop around on and now the wife enjoys it and thinking of a second bike that manages 2up without breaking the bank. There are a bunch of Asian twins out there for a couple of grand or so. Just do some research on the model...

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

Just want to thank the frequent contributors and advocates for EVs in this thread. It was very helpful and must say things are improving but, in the end decided to go with a plug in hybrid. PHEV allow for short EV trips as well as decent fuel economy when the battery only range is depleted...

What size of bike for 2 up ?

It’s really the bike as much as the engine size. I don’t think there is anything in the cruiser models at 600 cc. I’m sure someone can post a few to prove me wrong. For the most part, the Viragos and the Volusia with the 1100 engine will be fine. I made a couple of 1200 Sportsters manage...

What size of bike for 2 up ?

FIL has the 800 Volusia and ridden it many times with the squeeze on country roads and it’s quite enjoyable. On a 400 series highway, it’s not enjoyable after a little bit. Before you know it, there will be windshields and back rests and saddlebags etc. 😉

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

We pulled the trigger on a Ford Escape PHEV and pick up Wednesday. 60 km battery range and the hybrid system operates efficiently even when battery depleted. The equivalent RAV4 prime is far superior as well as some others. But, it delivers on what we want and needed at an attractive price...
