The further east you get, around the Gaspe and NB area, some folks speak "Franglais" which is a hybrid between English and French. Which lines up perfectly with my level of high school French! :-)

When we went back in 2005-ish, we did the South shore of St Lawrence out of Montreal, staying at Kamouraska on the first night. There was an excellent motorcycle museum in Saint Jean Port Joli that I believe is now closed. At Matane we headed south down into NB and then did the Gaspé peninsula...

Watched the reboot of “Road House” last night. It was ok as popcorn / pure entertainment goes. If you like UFC, you’ll enjoy the fight scenes. I did enjoy Gyllenhaal’s interpretation of the Swayze role.

Also watching Shōgun. Love the historical church vs State vs other religion bits. Obviously more gritty and full of effects vs the original 1980s TV mini-series which was more of a bodice-ripper with Richard Chamberlain. Well done and good political drama.

Agreed, but the above applies to anyone, regardless of gender. The implication that it’s only the responsibility of men is the part I take issue with.

The Bear is one of the best shows ever, imo. Beef was also excellent - extremely good and creative writing. Really enjoyed the SAG Awards on Netflix. All awards show should be done this way. Idris was good as host - a bit cringe in spots, but decent.
