Check for availability of personalized plates

Is there a reliable website that will tell you if a selected personalized plate is available? Some time ago I found one on the MTO's website but it was a PITA and didn't work. Thanks!

What was your first street bike?

1985 Honda VF750F Interceptor It scared the life out of me. It smelled of Turtle Wax and late 80s high test, made a fantastic sound. I was 14 when I traded my '87 XR250R for it. Sold it after shopping around for insurance rates.

Minimum Displacement requirement for 400 series highway?

Not quite into going that far. I built the bike to have something to ride when I'm out RVing with my family. My kids love it, my wife tolerates it - that's all the crowd I need. No. It was meant to display the sharktooth wear pattern on the cam chain gear. Lol. I could totally pull that...

Minimum Displacement requirement for 400 series highway?

Thanks guys, I'm hoping to make a couple of bike nights with it this year when I'm not harassing V Twins at Tim Hortons. The Dr is good, but the brokerage fees are a nightmare. Minimob Racing out of Manitoba has some unreal kit, but it runs into 'big' money quick. http://www.minimobracing.com/

Minimum Displacement requirement for 400 series highway?

Same thought enters my mind every time I turn onto the nearest main road near my house. A healthy dose of terror keeps you on your toes. There's more than meets the eye here aside from the engine as well. All Balls steering stem taper bearing conversion, fresh forks seals with 20wt fork...

Minimum Displacement requirement for 400 series highway?

It's a bit of a Heinz 57. TB Parts 108cc kit (52mm bore, 51mm stroke) TB Parts Big Valve Head V1 25mm intake, 22mm exhaust. TB Parts 3 disc clutch, 1971 Honda SL 70 basket, primary drive and shift linkage, new OE spring set. TB Parts high volume oil pump and reduced radius drive (accomodates...

    FZR400 winter overhaul

I am way late to the game, but FYI I've got lots of 7mm copper core wire on a roll. Great build, it's looking slick!

Minimum Displacement requirement for 400 series highway?

Lol. 12 N/A HP is a 7 HP jump over stock. 3 point jump in compression ratio, big valve head and a few other tricks ;)

Minimum Displacement requirement for 400 series highway?

My MiniTrail should 'hit the wall' at 100 KpH or so - right at the 62MPH max rating of the Bridgestone TrailWings. One short stint from Stanley Avenue to Dorchester on the 420 (one ramp to the next with a backup run for proof on the GPS). Just for bragging rights at Tim Hortons. Beyond that...

Minimum Displacement requirement for 400 series highway?

Thanks for great input! I've built a 108cc mill for my '83 Honda CT70. 4 speed trans, manual clutch, free flowing exhaust, 24mm carb with accelerator pump - nothing but the straight goods. I don't plan on making the 420 my stomping grounds, but I do want to 'blitz' it just once - without...

Minimum Displacement requirement for 400 series highway?

Wondering if there's a displacement requirement for the 400 series highways? I have a ...smaller bike... that's quite capable of highway speeds at least as long as my courage to ride it at that pace will hold out.

    Where to get a manometer?

An HVAC supply store will have single manometers or pairs for cheap (under $40) or you can get a 'proper' one from any bike shop (motion pro).

New rider and vintage bike - what to expect and where to go for insurance?

I'm tidying up an early 80s Honda CT70. Great little bike, I'll be sharing it with a new rider as our runabout when we go RVing. I'm 38, D/Z/M for myself (1 speeding ticket 3 years ago - no points), she's got a clean abstract G - 20 years+ and will be M1) I haven't had bike insurance myself...

shock linkeage bolts - quick question

Sorry about that, No harm or insult meant on my part. I'm a klutz, stands aren't my preference unless I can lock down either the front or rear of the bike to prevent tipping.

shock linkeage bolts - quick question

Lol. Hope you got there (here) in time! The only down fall to straps is releasing them (commonly they don't have any kind of ratcheting function when released, just gravity - can be a real problem with heavier bikes); a small come-a-long would be more money, but a little easier/safer on...

    Where to buy a battery?

Riders in the Hammer can try ACME (yup, While E. Coyote) Battery, 475 Parkdale. I would NOT put one of their batteries into a unicorn or other rare ride, but they are cheap and cheerful.

    Carb syncing

Aaaaannd that's why I like thumpers. Older bikes will have trouble holding their sync due to worn carb components (hardened o-rings, intake boots etc.). Little leaks can add up to big problems.

    Carb syncing

I asked the same question early in my apprenticeship. Compression values supplied by manufacturers / clymer / haynes are always supplied assuming that multiple cylinder engines have the spark plugs installed. For their values to be of any use, we also must test consistently. Typical cranking...

Scratched M4 Exhaust - How to Fix?

VHT is very disappointing for the cost. Very poor coverage, their flat black is almost brown. I really like duplicolor engine paint for the price.

    Carb syncing

Aside from build quality and supplied adapters, all manometers are equal. Yes, absolutely.
