    Mortgage rates

When we renewed we looked at our budget to max out our payment so we could pay the mortgage down quicker. We pay $300 lump sum every month (150 biweekly) on top of the mortgage payment that comes directly off the principal. The 300 is an automatic payment at the same time as the normal...

    Any fish /pond people??

Sounds like it should be fine unless the pond closed with a lower water level.

We Know you Ride, But do you Shoot?

It works on islands or countries surrounded by others with no guns. When you have a leaky border thousands of kms long where the bordering country is actually the most gun crazy in the entire world it's like plugging holes in a sieve with infinite holes.

    Any fish /pond people??

Could be, how deep is the deepest part of your pond? Water is at its most dense at 4C which is how fish survive in a deep enough pond over winter (it’s 4C water at the bottom of the pond). If it's not deep enough or there’s a severe freeze then they lose that room.

Any pesticides used on the lawn/flowers nearby? Neighbours spraying?

    Any fish /pond people??

Aeration? How are the aeration plants doing (the submerged ones)? You can also get an algae bloom just the same as big lakes. To avoid that you can try to keep the water moving and aerated. Fish flukes/parasites? I've kept tropical and marine fish for years. My current pond isn't deep...

    Anybody need some cellular data?

Yes it was a plan buried in the Roger’s preferred plan info the rep had at Costco. He saw on my bill history I got dinged with a bunch of roaming charges recently and he asked where this was (Panama). Showed me the plan (it covers Panama and 64 others) and I said “sign me up”.

    Anyone into gardening here?

Wife trapped bunny #3 this evening and we took a trip to the park to release it to be with its siblings. No more snacking on our fresh veggie seedlings for these guys. My Canadian hardy cactus is in year 3 now. It's spread and despite having a big hole in one of the main paddles of one bit...

    Anybody need some cellular data?

I just updated my phone to an S25 ultra and switched my Rogers corporate plan around. I now have a plan with 250GB data and free call/text/data roaming in 65 countries so I don't have to dick about with sims or phone settings or get dinged with the nuts roaming charges I got last time (about...

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

Mine looks tired but I just cover it with $20 Costco outdoor rugs and spend the saved cash on something else. Bonus, rugs don't need staining.

We Know you Ride, But do you Shoot?

Yep. My shotgun does this one of the fastest mechanisms in the world. Immense fun but not really needed or practical for clays. I want a semi decent break action for spinning ceramic sports.

We Know you Ride, But do you Shoot?

Don’t think so. I bought my guns elsewhere but this company stands behind their products when you need something! For what it’s worth I got better deals online from Quebec based stores. My Beretta 1301 shotgun isn’t exactly a dedicated clay sports gun (it’s a 3-gun shotgun) but it has a...

We Know you Ride, But do you Shoot?

Just in case you’re still looking, Stoeger Canada has great customer service (and a decent online parts and apparel store) and covers quite a few brands of Shotgun (and other firearms). Beretta, Franchi, Benelli, Stoeger and Chapuis Arms. I’ve had great dealings with them for shotgun parts and...

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

Wife did not like seeing the neighbours windows at the side of our house so we looked for a creative way of blocking them from view. Costco had some artificial boxwood panels with LED lights that can be linked together on sale so I strung 5 of them together and fixed them onto our lattice at...

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

I bought an interesting product for another use a while back. Was going to make homemade rocket motors from it but it’s original use is as a stump remover, albeit quite slowly, You get it from TSC or farm supply shops I believe. Pour it into a hollow on the stump and wait. Please don’t call...

    25'th Anniversary....and no plans. :(

You got quite the deal. The prices are outrageous for August. I’m all for supporting Canada but at the prices they quoted on the booking site I could book a week somewhere tropical for what they charge for 2-3 nights.

    25'th Anniversary....and no plans. :(

That looks nice! Unfortunately the wife came over while I was looking at the resort info and now it’s going to cost me. Did you book the 2 nights get one free thing? Edit: can’t see any deals for when we could go, it jumps up to around $1k a night which is getting to tropical island...
