    Motorcycle MX trailer carrier disadvantages?

You'd be better off getting one of these and selling it once you reach your destination http://ontario.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-RVs-campers-trailers-cargo-utility-trailers-MOTORCYCLE-TRAILER-W0QQAdIdZ499221165

    Insured!

According to an earlier post, it's an '87 Virago so it could be a 535, 750 or 1100 Cc. OP says she is mid 40's in Peterborough.

Is a Harley 883 sportster a chick bike?

Personally I think the Sporty is a great bike, but I'm on a "kid's in highschool and college" budget. Hence the Yamaha. Great bike though. Happy hunting. Buddy of mine in Norway is selling his 1200 Sporty. I really like what he's done with it...

    Vstar 120ish top speed?

Agreed, without a Tach you have no idea what you're doing to the engine. And if you shift at the points that Yamaha recommends in the owners manual you are seriously lugging the poor engine.

    Vstar 120ish top speed?

VStar 1100 is the same motor and similar drive train to the 1100 Virago. Red line is 7000 though I'm pretty sure you've never rev'd it that high :) Peak Horsepower comes at 5600 rpm Top speed should be around 180km/h or so depending on how big a sail you are... At 120 you should be running...

    Pick up truck

Does it have to be a pickup truck? I've been kind of looking at the Ford Transit Connect. They look like they could almost accommodate 2 motorcycles in the back. 2.5L 4 cyl should be pretty economical to run. Plus it lends itself to company advertising. Looks like one motorcycle is going to be...

Is a Harley 883 sportster a chick bike?

Just get a Virago and pocket the extra $5000 you would have spent on any Sportster to put into your track bike. (Says the guy with 2 Virago 1100s) Paid $2500 for this one with 60,000 kms on it.

    Tank Slapper Save

I don't quite understand all the physics of it, but a tight grip actually amplifies the tank slapper. In order for it to recover you need to relax your grip and let the bike sort itself out. I'm pretty sure they went into finer detail on A Twist of the Wrist. Here's a great article describing...

    Tank Slapper Save

In this case, probably some uneven pavement and too tight a grip on the hand grips. Though there could be a mechanical problem, worn bearings, loose steering head, misaligned forks etc can cause it. Attempting to fight it actually makes it worse. Good save though. I bet his heart hit 200 on...

Is there new 2011 CBR125R still left? And price?

Nothing wrong with buying a used CBR125R A quick search on kijiji showed several with under 5000 kms. Short of running them without oil it's pretty hard to beat a bike in under 5000 k :)

Best gas for an older bike?

What a beautiful ride! My 2003 Virago owners manual said to use 87 octane but to put Shell 91 in for storage as it has no ethanol. Think I'm going to see how my mileage goes with the 91. My last few tanks with "summer" gas haven't been that great. There's plenty of debate as to whether the...

Has anyone taken the "Suriving the Streets" Course?

Does your bike have a name?

I named mine Dolores only because a close friend asked what I'd named it, and then whenever I'm asked again I have to search my memory for the name. In real life I generally refer to it as "My bike"

    moving bike while turned off?

I always push my Virago into and out of my garage while turned off. Always backed in so getting out in the morning is easier. I've trained my wife to do likewise. She has a harder time getting it onto the centre stand though...

    Got first bike! Needs paint...

How much is an "arm and a leg". Airbrushing is very time consuming. I have a friend in Stratford who does amazing airbrush work. He quoted me about $2,500 to do the tins on my Virago which I thought was quite reasonable.
