    More trailer talk

I found an unused Fantastic fan for sale privately, and conscripted my son to help install it. Inside, I built a subframe to attach to the roof to give something to support the fan and to anchor the screws into. On the outside we built a gantry which spanned the top of the trailer and supported...

    More trailer talk

Once I was fully recovered, I started again and built a storage cupboard across the front, this is spacious enough to hold our helmets and riding gear. The curtain rod is made from a fence post and is sturdy enough for all of our jackets and riding pants etc. I modified the coat hangers so that...

    More trailer talk

Surfing the local online adds I found someone selling these stabilizing jacks. I cleaned, painted, and lubricated them to get them working properly, then installed at the rear to stabilize the trailer during loading and unloading. Verduyn tarps in Hamilton sells "E" track at a fraction of...

    More trailer talk

I found a gently used enclosed 6x12 trailer a short drive away, and sold my faithful folding trailer to another couple who needed one for their trip to BC. This trailer was a blank canvas, and I have some cool ideas. Building on a tight budget means that everything I need either has to be...

    More trailer talk

More trailer talk and construction blog I've enjoyed reading everyone's trailer stories here and thought I might as well chime in with mine. My wife and I have matching Virago 1100s and like to take them with us on vacation. We bought a small folding trailer (Chinese Kendon clone) because I...

M2 exit to full M without 400 hwys?

Consider getting your M2 exit with "Learning Curves", my wife and I took their course 2 years ago. The extra instruction was definitely worth the cost, The exam is run through east end Hamilton, and the HWY portion is done on the Red Hill expressway at 90km/h.

    PA Lift Table Sale

This chock was off an old motorcycle trailer, PA also sells a chock separately which is superior to the one I have on the lift. I put two of the PA ones in my bike hauler. I consider rust a non issue. Generally I'm washing the bikes on a sunny day and everything is pretty much completely dry...

    PA Lift Table Sale

I have an earlier version of the P.A. lift. I added a wheel chock to make it a bit easier to use as the included clamp is a bit weak. Sure makes oil changes and washing the bike a lot easier on my old back!

    Ode to Spring

As the days get longer and the snow starts to melt, the sap starts running, and the scent of maple syrup permeates the sugar bush. The Canadian motorcycle enthusiast emerges from his den where he has spent the past six months huddled by the fire, reviewing last seasons Moto-GP race videos and...

    Motorcycle lift / hoist recommendation

Picked up the Princess Auto lift used from a guy who was terrified to use it. This one has just the foot pump and works fine for me. I added a front wheel chock from an old motorcycle trailer and added extra tie down rings at the front. Not sure if I like the chock though.

GoPro Motorcycle Chin Setup - For those who want to begin recording!

I've been using a chesty mount for my personal vids. Though on my Virago it's a bit low, you can see how the windscreen support blocks the horizon. I've tried mounting to the bike but can't find a location that isn't shaky. The jello effect is a bit annoying :) Do you have any tips for...

    518, 124 & 520!

We were up in Kearney for the last 2 weeks of August. 518 is definitely a blast! Talking to the locals though, the stretch through Orrville sees a lot of accidents, so be mindful and stay in your lane. From Orrville south, Talley Ho Swords to 141 through Rosseau then Aspdin road to Huntsville...
