I have great neighbours, the ones in ontario were the worst. I have acres of land and 96,000 acres of crown land behind me. I ride fast and have yet to get pulled over, something that happened in Ont. And the twisty roads are awesome.
Edmonton is not at the top of where I would want to live. Can't see the mountains, if I worked in fort Mac maybe. On long weekends its bumper to bumper towards Jasper. I quess everyone wants out of the city for the weekend.
I moved east instead, still almost affordable.
I use one as a work truck, half of its 60,000kms have been off pavement. Stupid expensive but have climbed a snow drift covered mountain in one. Big studded tires help. And chains if it too deep.
To be quick you must be online. If you are getting offline slow down. You should be within 18" of where you want to be at all times. That allows room for mistakes without running off track. When you can be online lap after lap its time to go faster. If you are online all the time everyone else...
I lived near calgary for a year. Rode the mountains every chance I could. The cops like to hand out speeding tickets in BC. If you can keep speed in check its great riding.
I built a steel 20x20 garage with a poured floor. Steel roof, 20 ga. walls, for about $7000, 20 years ago. Sold that house. Realtor said it added $50,000. No permits. Sometimes ya gotta take a chance. Lol
