    Canada Post - Huge losses

If they put "force backs" into play again (complete your route and be forced out onto another), I can guarantee you that posties will stop at the cafe across the street or whatever instead of returning to the depot. Part of the collective bargaining agreement indicates that once you are...

They will get keys for the new box in their old box about 2-3 weeks ahead of the new one being put into use.

    Canada Post - Huge losses

That's more than likely precisely what will happen for non-SSD (see my post just before this one) depots. I bust my ass out there, get told by supervisors to slow down when I walk etc. Why? 'cause I get to go home a little early as my reward. Punish myself for a "treat".

    Canada Post - Huge losses

It's called "Separate Sort and Delivery" (SSD). Most depots that have installed this system are crazy behind on mail delivery with many days of ail stacked up for large portions of their depot. Postie arrives, mail has been pre-sorted. Still need to mark packets/parcels and sort them for proper...

    Canada Post - Huge losses

100% we are tracked by our ID card scan-in when we enter the depot, then when we log in to our PDT, and again when we log out. This is one of the things that CP is pointing their fingers at in the negotiations. They refuse to believe that letter carriers are NOT taking their breaks during the...

    Canada Post - Huge losses

You don’t understand how people wiht home delivery fight against Community Mail Box conversion. It’s a luxury that basically costs them nothing. People are loath to give up luxuries.

Late to the party here… Do you realize that most European countries literally charge double what CP does? Take Germany for example - you can fit the country into Ontario almost FIVE TIMES. Consider that our country is what, 5500km coast to coast, now add in transportation costs… Now, add in...

    Vacations and big poppas adventures

Heck, the Polish woman I tried to bring here 20 years ago is still an absolute smoke show... just wow.... still sad it didn't work out due to circumstances beyond our control.

    Yikes - spare key cost

Not too terrible… Mine are in the $360 range and only available from the dealership. Laser cut. Scorpion chipset…. Apparently one of the best… but I could be wrong - it’s a bike from 2012, line discontinued in 2015.

    Another Mike Holmes Stinker (Meaford)

I dunno… Bought an ultrasonic rodent repeller 1.5 years ago after finding a whack of mouse droppings in my basement guest bed. Properly cleaned everything and installed the ultrasonic device. Haven’t had an issue since.

    Chromeburner is bankrupt

Last order with FCMoto was sent by UPS… Got smoked by their import fees.

    Canada Post - Huge losses

Believe you me - this is a nationwide grievance that will 100% be brought to the attention of the CIRB when negotiations begin again in May. For the backlog - think of this. On Jan. 2 we had pretty much zero mail or parcels to deliver. CP still had to pay full wages even though posties were...

I get nailed for customs from USPS parcels coming into Canada about 3/4 times.

    Canada Post - Huge losses

Relay Bags: Bags containing mail - usually as much as a letter carrier can carry at once. They are delivered to Relay Boxes by the subcontracted company. Each bag will be tagged with a location as to where the bag needs to be delivered. Relay Boxes are placed strategically along the route...

    Canada Post - Huge losses

Lucky you… guessing the customs dept is overwhelmed by the number of parcels and is fast tracking everything under a certain value amount.

    Canada Post - Huge losses

Just the wrong thoughts here. We are being denied overtime work. (Against the CBA that the CIRB stated would go back into effect immediately upon force back to work). On Monday and Tuesday this week, we had 31 and 25 relay bags full of mail come back. It was basically 100% coverage. They pay a...

What Are You Currently Listening To?

Just listened to a remake of the Pink Floyd classic, Comfortably Numb. David Gilmour is featured on guitar. The band… Body Count Ice T’s rap core metal band. The lyrics and overall style are drastically changed, but the song underneath is still Comfortably Numb. I’m digging it. hard.

I’m guessing it would be somewhere around 700-1000 addresses. Anything smaller would be in mail boxes at the post office. As for rural, they are usually delivered to by nearest large town. They have Rural Route drivers that deliver to farm mail boxes on the roadside etc.

    Canada Post - Huge losses

Still no OT. We have pictures of our portable data terminals' messaging app (posties to supervisors and vice versa, postie-to-postie not possible) showing that OT is denied from several people in my depot. The supervisor who put that into writing yesterday on the messaging app wasn't in the...

    Canada Post - Huge losses

I would love to. Only thing is, is that's a fireable offence. There is *ZERO* tolerance for taking pictures inside of the depot except for if you're snapping a pic of the header card (basically, your route directions street by street) so you can refer to it when out on route as needed. I just...
