    Tire mismatch phuckery?

Do they need to match? Each time I went to Ladakh, I used a different tyre for the back vs front. Hmm..

    Tim's Credit Card

With a bit of effort and strategy, to determine which card to use for what purchase, and paying the bill off in full each month, it is always better, financially and otherwise, to pay for a transaction with a credit card vs. cash. E.g. For each Tim's transaction, if you were to use an Amex...

    Chain Maintenance - and go!

On my V-Strom, I like to clean the chain before I use the lubrication. So it's a two-step process: a) Use WD 40 and and old rag, and clean the chain thoroughly and b) Lube the chain. Currently using: Maxima Chain Wax Every couple of rides or between 1000-1500 kms

2023 Ride Report - North Shore of St. Lawrence

Wonderful! Your eloquent words and vivid descriptions truly transported me to the destinations you explored. I remember visiting Tadoussac in 2019 with my family and wondering where the 138 road ends. We went only as far as the Marine Environment Discovery Centre.

    Brake Replacement for CX-5

Spoke to him. He knocked off 10% from parts. Thanks! The only issue is, I live in Burlington. Going to Scarborough and back would negate the savings.

    Brake Replacement for CX-5

I have a 2018 Mazda CX-5 which has around 102K on it. I got the rear brake set replaced at 70k last year. OEM. On the last service, I was told that the front brakes would need replacement next time. The time is due. The front pads and rotor are original parts; from when I bought the new car. I...

Had my first highway ride in heavy rain tonight.

In addition to what others have mentioned: I use the rear brake more than the front in slippery conditions. This is the inverse of what I do, in dry conditions. And of course, it goes without saying - progressive braking, more delicately in wet conditions. Another thing to watch out for is...

    2023 Day Trips!

Finally back home. Rain was a close companion these 2 days. Plus, got ticketed for speeding in quebec 😕 I got excited as soon as the rain stopped on the 101 South going towards Temiskaming from Laniel. My first (hopefully last) in Canada But I enjoy riding, regardless. I enjoyed this ride as...

    2023 Day Trips!

I am doing the Temiskaming loop. I eventually ended up where I intended to be when I left home, but I cut out a few sections from my route owing to the rain. Thankfully I am not soaked. Annoying ride? Yes - Primarily because of the spray from the trucks ahead. Here is the route I ended up doing:
