Metrolinx FYI for CAF & Vets

True ! Lol. It does save lot of money though... my last trip flying to Kelowna it would have been $100 extra each way for our luggage. That gave Mrs. Gaoler an extra $200 to spend on Okanagan wine.

Metrolinx FYI for CAF & Vets

Oh... on a related note. Air Canada and West Jet waive baggage fees for CAF members and vets. Just check your bags at the counter... Present appropriate ID and they'll tag your bag and away it goes. *other airlines may have the same policy, but I've only ever flown AC and WJ...

Metrolinx FYI for CAF & Vets

In case if any members or vets aren't aware... This could translate into significant savings if you're a regular commuter... Those of us who only use the GO once in awhile can use the money we save to buy some street meat...

    here we go again...

Camping "sounds" nice, but it's a lot of work after a long day in the saddle. I'll do it for the novelty, but if the weather looks like it's going to be wet... F*** it I'm on my phone booking a room somewhere.

    here we go again...

My first and second trip to BC I packed too much... I even had a rifle with me to use on an anticipated stop in Sask. for some gopher shootin'. Both trips I ended up paring down my luggage and mailing the excess home from BC.

    here we go again...

Lol... We still talk about that day. WTF were we thinking we say... 'Should have stayed put in Cranbrook until the weather got better. Then again, you never know what's in store in the mountains. The previous trip along the same route I stopped at a rest area and when I came out of the washroom...

2023 trip we left May 31. Riding conditions were pretty good... Except for our ride thru, up/over the mountains Cranbrook to Grand Forks. Ride through hell Lol... sleet, rain, snow 0°. I'm a bit of a sissy... I like the heat. 'First-time I rode out west it was in August. 40° on the wide open...

    Power of Attorney

I'm fortunate in that my family, immediate extended and circle of friends is free of drama. I'd have no trouble stepping up to POA oe exec. for any of them. Some families unfortunately do have difficult members

    Your last words...

It ain't random... The first time I noticed this phenomenon was several years ago 'sitting around the office talking with a co worker about tires. Motorcycle tires. Shortly afterwards I take my phone from my pocket and open up FB. My "feed" is full of ads for guess what... Motorcycle tires.

    Your last words...

'Heard a thought provoking question... On your deathbed... What would you want your last word(s) to be..? I can't decide between something poignant or something smart-assy...

    Power of Attorney

My wife dealt with this with her older sister... There may be differences case to case, but... If you're a rational person and take the advice of the doctor(s) involved... It's not that difficult. The choice was perma-coma with a feeding tube or cease intervention and let nature take its course...

My father in law had a notebook with EVERYTHING written down. Names and addresses of all his holdings/investments., acct. numbers... Anything/everything we needed to deal with his estate. 'made thins very easy

    Power of Attorney

I found the "time" consuming part wasn't really me spending "my time" doing stuff, but rather just waiting for others to do stuff... Things like waiting for a bank or insurance company to process whatever... My MIL's estate was moderately complicated and it took a couple of years to completely...
