    CVMG Paris Rally

I expect that's the case, though I have no first hand knowledge. While riding out I ventured to the opposite end of the property. There's a huge swath of disused parking, and what looks like temporary stables. And didn't they have flat track racing in that part of the property at one time?

    Rocky's Harley Davidson closed

Is it a dead end? ...sorry...I had to.

Motor Vehicle Sound checks in Toronto (dB)

I have a hard time having a hard time with this. I can't count the number of times when I went through "blitzes" or spot checks in a commercial vehicle (cub van or stake/dump truck) where the detainment was well beyond a couple minutes. Never a charge or infraction though, thankfully. In my...

Motorcycle Safety Inspection - my experience June 2025

I'm not 100% certain, but I believe the mechanic has the option of leaving the safety in progress on the system allowing for the client to make repairs and continue. It seems like it depends on the shop or mechanic doing the inspection.

    Blackbridge Harley

I get that HD has staked a great deal on their notion of "brand value", "exclusivity" and tribal belonging (in a marketing sense) within the greater context of the marketplace, meaning purchasing motivations beyond us as experienced MC owners/riders. Where I think they completely missed the...

    Blackbridge Harley

I agree their new bikes are outrageously expensive, but I still see lots of HD's farting their way along Hwy. 2 in front of our farm here in Port Hope. They're pretty much all older ones though, primarily touring models, heritage soft tail and road kings. I've never seen a new sportster or a new...

How much closer to worthless can you get before you shut the lights off? Maybe they already repossessed the light bulbs.

Motorcycle Safety Inspection - my experience June 2025

I agree that a bike that will include a premium SHOULD be a plus. Being a serial kijiji and now marketplace watcher it doesn't look like stuff (that I'd be interested in at least) is moving very well. Lots of price dropping, though still many seem overpriced to start with.

    CVMG Paris Rally

I'll leave relatively early on Saturday and take 401/QEW. I find there are more good roads/interesting places well south of the 401. It's not a horrible day trip, just not the nice, relaxed day trip it once was. At least it's strawberry season so I can enjoy a couple of quarts on the way. The...

    CVMG Paris Rally

I'm coming from Port Hope. The worst part for me is everything from Oshawa out past Mississauga. It used to be that I could take the highway out to Guelph Line and go up to Hwy 5 then west. It WAS quiet and relatively rural pretty much the whole way with Waterdown being a little busier. It...

Motorcycle Safety Inspection - my experience June 2025

Yeah, I can see that point, but I'm pretty comfortable in that I believe I know the general condition of my bikes vis-a-vis a safety. I'm not one for aftermarket exhausts or flush mount signals etc. so not a concern. I AM CONCERNED about getting a safety for my Norton Commando. Drum rear brakes...

Motorcycle Safety Inspection - my experience June 2025

Or you could just say the price includes a safety, then when the deal is done and you're paid you take the bike in.

    CVMG Paris Rally

I'd say you should go. It's much more than old British bikes now and there's a fair bit of Japanese vintage. It's a pretty town and a nice ride. In my opinion it's a great day out on the bike.

    Friday The 13th Port Dover

Me too. I wouldn't cross the road to be part of a geriatric pirate party fawning over overdone choppers and other MoCo flotsam. The CVMG Paris rally happens Saturday and Sunday. Way more interesting motorcycles, and motorcycle culture. Plus some good country roads to explore.

Stupidly overpriced motorcycle for sale thread

I'm not certain that this is overpriced if viewed as a collection of miscellaneous parts. I am 100% CERTAIN that this thing is a hideous, poorly thought out, perhaps dangerous stupid idea. https://www.kijiji.ca/v-view-details.html?adId=1718684906

    Aching Shoulders

Getting ergo's right takes time and money. Experimentation, then adjustment is an ongoing exercise, and as we age and find more joints that ache or get stiff it continues. The fact that our body parts are so connected may mean that shoulder pain is coming from/caused by something other than the...

    Gear indicator

I'm with those who say, "Why?" and 100% on board with Adri's advice. I've had 6-speed transmissions forever, and sometimes still find myself looking for an extra gear, or tap dancing on the shifter an extra time or 2 when in first. BIG DEAL! It's isn't doing any damage, slowing my progress or...

    Orangeville Blues and Bikes Event

It does seem to be a certain crowd that likes to park (usually backed in) their bikes in rows and roam around the parked bikes which are all very similar.

Motorcycle mistakes you only make once... and ones you make all the time...

Only did it once: Not opening the sliding barn door at least half way to ride the bike out WITH the side cases installed. Do it frequently: Set small tools and parts down on uneven surfaces on the bike instead of the bench or tool cart. I always think, "It's only for a moment" then spend...

What did you do in your garage today..?

Yearly. I have rodent issues. Since installing some galvanized screening in the intakes it's been free of poop but it still gets pretty dirty.
