That is one old tire. I would first put water on the hole to see if their is an air leak and if not, pull out the piece and see if starts to leak after. Even though you still have decent tread, the tire is dry and hard with limited traction to what it had when it was new.
If CAA is not getting their information from the government, then there must be collusion within the insurance industry to share information. This gives them the opportunity and excuse to needlessly jack up rates. Insurance companies also ping your credit rating which effects your insurance...
Years ago I bought two sets for my gixxer and they were good for the price. I needed to reuse all my stock rubber grommets and heat shields, but I installed it loosely and then tightened it while holding the alignment. Fit great and cheap as hell. Both sets were custom and looked near perfect.
Not a fan of unpredictable twists, just unpredictable twisties. I am glad i have back up bikes, since yesterdays ride was awesome with no need to adjust tire pressure;)
Does the handlebar cluster go back that far?
I am a huge fan of Ducs so here is my biased review. They do need EXTRA love with belts and valves but only at 12000 MILES so maybe every few years you will have to shell out an extra 700.00. The newer ones have an even longer maintenance time...

Canada Post has completely given up with their customer base. The drivers are on the front lines and risking everything getting the packages delivered, but the back end management is using the virus as an excuse to eliminate service guarantees, make damage claims or follow up and look into lost...
The wife and I were out on the weekend and there was an insane amount of bikes. It was the only nice day in two weeks, so everyone seemed to get out while they could.
