    Motorcycle courses…

Just to thread-jack..... I see Trail Tours is doing dual-sport courses now. Which as a newer rider, with a Dual Sport/Adventure bike, seems like an obvious fit. Plus it's like 20 minutes from my father in law, so getting the wife to sign off would be an easy sell... Anyone done the Dual...

    Where's Wingboy?

I spent 3 months working in Radium, years ago... There and Osoyoos are two of my favourite places in the world. Banff is gorgeous, but too spendy for my blood.

    Canadian Tire selling Joe Rocket

To be fair, there's about 175 places along the manufacturing and supply chain that a lid could be dropped; that's why it's so important to properly inspect the ACTUAL one you're going to buy, rather then just grab the box off the shelf...

    Canadian Tire selling Joe Rocket

QFT - the store can sue you for the damaged item; but they cannot force you to pay, nor can they detain you until you pay...

    2022 insurance

My Broker got back to me, and I was pleasantly surprised... Rates dropped by 30% or so! Still going to shop around, but at least I know where I stand now.

Looking to buy a small SUV

Used are insane right now - and in 6 months, the market will be flooded, IMO... If you absolutely need something for the road trip - rent.. but buckle up. Prices are up 30-50% over a year ago, and supply is way down - reserve early if you do go that route.

    Operation Noisemaker

As a guy who lives in Niagara, and takes the QEW regularly; the number of rice rockets (mostly Honda's with J-spec stickers plastered all over them, BMW's that must eat a set of tires a week they've got the camber so cranked, and the occasional Mazda or Subaru) - that I see blasting up the...

    2022 insurance

Just got my renewal notice in the mail today, for my '21 F750GS... Just the pink slips straight from Intact - no rate information at all; just a note to contact my broker. This doesn't make me feel warm and fuzzy deep down inside. Got an email in to them right now; looking to see what the...

    Looks like Ford...Got it done!

Ford's people figured out (and did) what the Federal Con's haven't been able to wrap their heads around... that small-c Conservative thinking is generally well liked in Canada... Financially conservative policies are usually well received; it's the so-con stuff that shoots them in the foot...

    2022 GTA Photo Tag!

Nice spot... bit far for a Niagara guy to get to in time; but I know exactly where it is... ;)

    Bike crashes

That's the closest Tim's to my office - when I ride in, I make sure to park well away from the squids that gather there...

Ontario to permanently set speed limits on some highway sections at 110 km/h

I can beat that for absurdity... This is going back prob 15 years ago, though. 401 Windsor bound, just before London; I was in the middle lane doing 106, in a marked company truck (was working for a large phone company at the time). Cars on both sides passing me like I'm standing still. Cop...

Ontario to permanently set speed limits on some highway sections at 110 km/h

I blasted past an unmarked on the 404 years ago - he lit me up; I slowed down and was pulling over as a BMW -ROCKED- past us both... Cop gave me the "you're a bad boy" finger wave as he pulled out and went after bigger fish.

Does insurance for new riders decrease a lot after the first year?

I'm hoping for a good decrease when my policy renews in August; but with insurance these days, who knows?? 45, married, considered a new rider (let my M license lapse prob 15 years ago, so had to start over). My record's not great, although clean for the last 4 years... 4k a year for...

Lakeside Park on the 24th of May

"Everyone would gather On the twenty-fourth of May Sitting in the sand To watch the fireworks display" I'm a huge Rush fan. I ride a German bike. The "Lakeside Park" the song is about (Port Dalhousie, St. Catharines) is like 45 minutes from me... Seems like ducking out for an hour, after lunch...

    Another Battery Question

Agree.. Anything between 12.5-13.1 is perfectly normal for a charged LA battery, sitting open-cell.

    Another Battery Question

Canadian Tire batteries are made by East Penn, currently... Pretty well regarded and generally high quality. I'm surprised you're having a hard time with them. Only thing I can think of is old stock, that's not been properly floated and rotated.

    Another Battery Question

Depending on the intelligence of the charger; leaving a trickle charger on the battery all winter may do the battery in.... Esp. if it's a larger charger (motorcycle/power-sports battery tenders should usually be in the 500-750 ma range; car tenders may be as much as 7A) Yuasa is a big name...
