    Bikes you want to try

BMW R nineT Pure - I'm afraid to ride it, because then I'll have to explain the purchase to my wife. Any Indian for the same reason...

    Pickup Trucks

Half ton Rams use coil springs in the rear - payload is typically 500-900 lbs lighter then a similarly equipped truck from another brand with leafs... Ram rides WAY nicer unloaded, but sags hard under any kind of weight. Solution is factory or aftermarket air ride - which works nicely, but...

    Pickup Trucks

Late to this party - and just catching up... I drive an '18 GMC with the 5.3 V8 - get 12.5l/100km in real-world mileage - pretty much identical to my wife's Explorer - 1600 lbs payload, towing of about 11k (in theory) - I routinely tow a 7000 lb travel trailer with no issues. 1/2t (1500...

Resources for Electrical Knowledge, Connectors, Tools etc.

I crimp all kind of connectors (from 22ga to 750mcm - so from telephone/ethernet wire to power cable as big as your wrist)... A good crimp tool is key... Ratcheting is good, makes a better connection; and the combo strip/crimp tool from Crappy Tire/parts stores are, frankly, crap...

CAA towing cost for more than allotted mileage?

I have CAA Plus w/ RV coverage... Between the wife's SUV, the trick, the travel trailer and the bike - my ass should be covered for any issues I run into (knock on wood, in around 10 years I've needed lock-out service once, and that's it)

CAA towing cost for more than allotted mileage?

Used to be a 48 hour period between upgrading and the upgrade taking effect (or getting CAA and using it)... Just to keep people from upgrading on the spot or getting CAA because it's cheaper then the direct tow.

Motorcycle that I bought has a Lien

As a former medical first responder, and first aid instructor - if I could drive one point home with my students... if someone comes up and identifies themselves as a Doctor at an incident - be sure they're an MD... Odds are better than average they aren't. When a "medical professional"...

    Hwy 20 / Smithville - GWS

On August 28, 2023, at 8:07am, 8 District (Grimsby/Lincoln/West Lincoln) uniform officers from the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) responded for a report of a serious collision involving a car and motorcycle in West Lincoln (Smithville).

    900,000 students coming in…

A Progressive Conservative ticket - A fiscal conservative, who stays the eff away from the moral/religious minefield, could run away with the popular vote... But we don't have that option available. PP talks the talk, but he's not cast the extremists out of the tent; and even as a...

    900,000 students coming in…

Trudeau is a narcissistic, entitled PoS. PP is the boogeyman. Singh is a socialist and visible minority... Opinions are like ******** - everyone has one, and everyone else's stinks. I'm all for immigration - we need it for a few reasons; but it has to be the right way - Doctor, Engineer...

    Best way to get home?

I live in Niagara and work in Mississauga... I ride to/from work rarely for this exact reason. 2 hours on the QEW in stop and go traffic is annoying in a pickup. It's brutal on a bike.

The Bad Drivers of Ontario Thread

Those using mobility aids also need extra space to get in and out; or to use their assistive devices... My ex-GF had a brain tumour and a series of strokes, that left her using leg braces and a walker to get around; and we had an appropriate parking pass. That's my truck in the handicap spot...

Motorcycle that I bought has a Lien

Not to derail the thread, but there's no duty to provide first aid under Canadian law... The good Samaritan act protects those that do provide first aid (within certain contexts) but beyond a duty to summon help ("I called for help, but no one heard me....") - that's all that's required...

Could this be put on the road?

As a former hose dragger here... It would be plated as a heavy-duty truck (need a DZ to drive it in Ontario) The sirens are typically removed; and the lights are either disabled, or the red lens swapped for amber. Fire trucks, esp. pumpers, are run hard - and have lots of idle hours...

My 42-Year-Old Friend Failed His M2 Exam

As someone who did their M1/M1X at Hamilton - that lot is great, there's elevation changes, room for some sweeping turns and to get some speed.... Great location to get started, for sure!
