    Local Auto Thefts

Does the government profit from car thefts? You buy a nice car @ $100,000 and pay $13,000 HST on top. It gets stolen and your insurer cuts you a cheque for $113,000 You buy a replacement and pay $100,000 plus $13,000 HST The government take is $26,000 unless there is an input tax...

The Bad Drivers of Ontario Thread

True. A chick a few years ago basically got a friend to blow into the DUI limiter. Then she drove off and killed someone. For starters we need to know more details about this crash. Where was the guy coming from or going to? Was he at a party or a bar or home? Was there someone there that...

The Bad Drivers of Ontario Thread

If a speeding vehicular hits a stationary vehicle of the same size there’s something about the physics that says the stationary vehicle gets the worst of it. A news clip showed the dui driver standing and being put in a squad car apparently in injured. The drunk walks away. Comments??

The Bad Drivers of Ontario Thread

We all make countless decisions every day, some bad but of little consequence. Having a bit too much to drink isn’t of great consequence by itself but it compromises the ability to assess the next decision. Decisions are made one at a time but must must key into the next ones. In this case...

    Appliance Repair

Some people have no mechanical sense. They don’t try to sense when something is sticking and just push harder. They overload shelves, cars, tools and friends.

    Appliance Repair

A friend always seems to be buying new appliances because his family has a way of breaking things. He always seems to be buying a new fridge, washer, drier. microwave etc. Short of blunt force, how do people damage stuff? He works hard and makes good coin. It seems that the family thinks "It's...

Do you do a pre-flight check before every ride?

My mantra is to do post ride checks. That way you have time to correct any snags before the next ride. If you rely on pre ride checks, you might find something amiss just as your buddies show up and you have to bail on the ride or risk going with a known problem.

Seeking advice for quick sale of GSX-R750

Get it running and list it. Be prepared for insult prices. The selling price won't go up substantially unless you put a lot of T&M into the bike. If it's dragging you down, cut it loose.

    Solo trip from Toronto

If it wasn't for the US / Trump attitude I'd head for Eastern Ohio. Western Ohio is flat and boring. Just be careful. In Canada a "F Trudeau" hat gets you a cheer. In the USA a "F Trump" hat gets you shot. You're there in about five hours so if something isn't working out the return trip isn't...

    Canada Post - Huge losses

Very American of CP. It copies an American manufacturer that, having a desirable product, requires a distributor to carry a half million dollar inventory that provides a bit of bread and butter income. However, when a large job comes into the area the manufacturer goes direct.

    Canada Post - Huge losses

No worth starting a thread over so a bit of a hijack. I came out of retirement for a week to help straighten out a government project that had so many problems that it must have been designed by a Liberal and built by the NDP. I helped teeny bit on a dumpster fire.

    Anyone into gardening here?

The nursery left the wire basket on our new maple. They said it was to make it easier if they had to replace the tree.
