Harley Happenings - Jochen Zeitz "retiring"

Very welcomed. Before renting a hog in AZ the Squeeze and I went to Rocky's in London to sit on one. When we went in the girl was friendly and said "sit on anything you want". Most bike shops don't like you hopping on random bike unless there's a salesman hovering. It was very good experience...

    COVID and the housing market

It's great. I have some back issues and love. Where would you buy one? @GreyGhost is not far off. We bought this bed in '85. We're on our third bladder. They wear out.

    COVID and the housing market

Checked with Harold my 90 + neighbour who helped put on the second floor. (He still drives!) The 2x6s were sistered with 2x10s. Could say now I can rest easier but I'm already sleeping on a waterbed.

Harley Happenings - Jochen Zeitz "retiring"

Is it? I've sat on one. It's huge and it's heavy. I wouldn't trade old my KLR for a new PanAm.

Harley Happenings - Jochen Zeitz "retiring"

My two points: 1) HD has been in trouble for a long time. 2) I still think an 838 Sporty is sweet bike and the only one I'd want.

    COVID and the housing market

Nope! It's been there almost 30 years. I think it's good for another 30. I'll have to ask the nieghbour who helped on the project if they sistered the joists. All that said I'd add a jack post in the middle of my living room before I'd ditch the bed.

    COVID and the housing market

That's my current house. They added the second floor w/o disturbing the drywall ceiling on the main. For the second floor they just went with baseboard electric (it was added in the 70's). We don't use much heat upstairs as the kids are gone and the Squeeze and I share a waterbed. Always toasty...

    Buying gear from Europe

Do you take lids? Squeeze and I had one hockey dedicated just for helmets and jackets when we did the fly and ride. Helmets don't pack well. They're so hard to fold.

    Daily sports car?

White is the most under appreciated colour. White cars are more visible (safer) and stay cooler in the summer.

What is a KLR good for?

I said it was cheap to fuel. That cheap gas will get you close to 60MPG.

The Reasonably Priced Used Motorcycles for Sale Thread

A buddy is a huge fan. Has 3 three that run and likely enough parts to build one or two more.

    COVID and the housing market

Regardless of if it's true my first thought is pompous arse with more money than brains who wants to make it obvious to all.

    Long Way Home

I thought they had beat this franchise to death long ago.

What is a KLR good for?

Could have done it if they had learned how to pack. I remember watching an episode (or reading??) where they decided to lighten the load and decided they didn't need a spare stove. Who brings a "spare" stove?

What is a KLR good for?

No need. The KLR is not about power.

What is a KLR good for?

They also break more stuff ($$$plastic) when they hit the ground.

What's the going rate for motorcycle service?

I would do this go for a ride and then see if you still have issues. Then replace or relax depending on what you find. Some simple wrenching with the manual in hand (You did buy a Model specific manual for your bike, right?) can save big bucks and and not put at the mercy of the shops timing...

What is a KLR good for?

No!. I meant passing by the ball bearings some a$$hat threw on the road. But I am all over riding a slow bike fast.

What is a KLR good for?

Let's not. I might be the next one passing by.
