    Lock for helmet?

While top box is very handy, it can affect handling significantly on some bikes at 172 speeds. That may or not matter to you. Most are only rated to 120 kph. I've never had one come off though.

    Laid-off? GTAM Members looking-out.....???

In the short-term, Purolator, FexEx and UPS are probably hiring everybody with a pulse and employees seem to be pretty happy. No stress at the end of the day, just clock out and enjoy your off-time. It's hard to have an engineering/PM job with that level of disconnection.

    Lock for helmet?

If doing a quick errand, why not use the old helmet? I never, ever leave the lid on the seat. Really likely some idiot knocks it off. If I leave the helmet with the bike, it is either hanging so it can't accidentally fall, in a case or rested on the ground. I don't ride helmets expensive enough...

KTM now part of the Bajaj group of India

There is a possible third option although I am not sure of the viability. Revin/reframe them as 2026 bikes. Obviously this has major problems with Euro emission regs but may work in ROW. It costs something to do the work but maybe less than the hits the other paths entail. Would the 2026 bikes...

    ADV Scooter?

"Long-travel" suspension with 1.5" of travel? Hard pass. Marketing wank. Short travel suspension is more like 4". Long travel is pushing 10" normally.

KTM now part of the Bajaj group of India

The first problem is the huge existing inventory. Bajaj can avoid building some models for years and won't run out. Would you rather have a KTM built bike that had been in storage for years or a fresh Bajaj build? Personally, I don't know which one I'd prefer.

    Canada Post - Huge losses

In my experience, within unions seniority and exceptional employees are often inversely correlated. You survive by falling in line and doing the bare minimum mandated by the CBA. Those that strive to do better are told to stop making their seniors look bad. EDIT: A friend started work at a...

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

Is it really 35% depreciation after a year or were they grossly overpriced to begin with? Imo, tesla included a market price adjustment in the trucks when they sold them. They knew the early adopters were dumb as posts and would pay anything. If msrp was a more reasonable 70K, "depreciation"...

    Suzuki hand grips

I think Kuryakyn has made those for decades. Available with or without heat. I suspect knockoffs will be a lot cheaper. What size bar is handlebar (7/8" or 1")? Kuryakyn's webpage is pretty good but they don't appear to have 2008 S40 as a filter.

    Canada Post - Huge losses

I wasn't judging the unions position. I was expecting them to reject it as there are structural problems at CP that can't be solved through CUPW negotiation. The biggest problem is CP is incompetent and needs a grenade and a reset. CUPW has no ability to fix that. EDIT: As for the breaks being...

    Canada Post - Huge losses

As expected, union brass rejected latest CP offer. CP previously denied an extension. CP wants the strike. Imo, they believe that gets them to public purse cash influx faster. There is no way these two come to an agreement even if there is a two week extension. It is just delaying the...

Thanks for the info. CP apparently delivered another proposal today. Rightfully, CP did not publicize the contents of the package.

Buying a new motorcycle without test drive

You also develop faster as a rider with a smaller bike. Low skill and big motor has many riders slowly wobbling through corners and then blasting down the straights. Sure, you can start on any bike but with very few exceptions, a big bike is a worse choice.

And most of those decisions should be made prior to cupw negotiations. It sounds like management is continuing to sit on their hands and hope for more government "loans".

Iirc, Purolator was impacted negatively last time. I don't remember if it was cupw, a sympathy action or just falling on their face. FedEx and ups drivers will make bank.

    Canada Post - Huge losses

I very rarely blame employees. The union itself is the leech that kills its host. They want to maximize union revenue. If the host dies, so be it, they try to infiltrate another business. Employees take a beating, company takes a beating. Union normally survives by branching out.

Fake ads where? Facebook? GTAM? Scam ads are a very profitable business. Very low cost, very high profit.

    Canada Post - Huge losses

Technically, the union may be correct. IIRC, government paused the strike/lockout but it wasn't technically ended. I agree though, running it past the members before they eat kraft dinner for a year seems reasonable. Maybe the union was worried they would lose the mandate and therefore become...
