Then the creditors don't get paid and the kids get nothing for an inheritance. Debt dies with the deceased.

Unless the loans are co-signed, debt doesn't get transferred to the kids, but the proceeds of the estate of the deceased will be used to pay off these debts to creditors before the kids inherit it.

Hopefully gyroscopic technology will be advanced enough in the future to allow me to stay on two wheels when age and infirmity argue otherwise... Me: Did you have a good ride? R1200GS: Yes! Next time you should come along!

My buddy says nobody in Canada has ever been fined for transmitting on ham frequency without a license. These are the low-wattage walkies, not the stationary radios with powerful transmitters. *shrug*

Not that expensive. It's $60 fee and then you take 100 question multiple choice test. They say the pass rate is 70% the first time. Legally, you need a Ham license to use the VHF frequencies on the walkies, but with only 4 km radius out in the bush it's unlikely an FCC officer will be close...

Lol! The ham walkie talkies are surprisingly cheap. About the same cost as the FRS that the OP was using in the first post: https://www.amazon.ca/BAOFENG-Handheld-Upgrade-Receiver-Rechargeable/dp/B0DRSB45ZZ/ref=mp_s_a_1_6

Also range is better. The current batch of motorcycle comms are extremely limited to line-of-sight, topping out at well under a km in optimum conditions. Used to be about a km before they went digital. And when you rounded a corner, forget it, you're not talking to anybody till they also round...

Back when I first started riding, we didn't have these fancy communicator doodads. I rode with my wife a lot, so I told her, "I'll ride up beside you, hold my hand near my crotch and stick my index finger out to let you know that I need to pee" She told me, "Yeah, that signal's not gonna work...

Agreed. Everyone's different in terms of budget and prioritization. If you don't use it that much, or that kind of kit is low on your priority on things to spend money on, and it's good enough for your use case, then thumbs up for your frugality. More $$$ left over for things that are more...

Do I ever! RdP was the reason why I bought my REV'IT! one-piece leather race suit. He crashed so often in his that I thought, "If those leathers hold up that well that often, they're gonna suit me JUST FINE!" :ROFLMAO:

We were there 10 years ago. Lots of traffic and they were running jeep tours at the time, so things might have changed since then. Edit: Looks like they still rent scooters there: https://www.viator.com/tours/Rome/Appian-Way-Vespa-Tour/d511-9869P5

More plot twists and turns than a Hitchcock movie! Such a rollercoaster of emotions for French fans when Quatararo led the race then binned it. I didn't know what was going on till about half-race distance, so much to keep track of! Who's on wets? Who's on slicks? Who's completed their...

They used to advertise Jeep tours of the Appian Way. Regular cars don't normally take this route because the cobblestones are very bumpy, so it's almost like an off-road route. Popular with mountain bikes. Also, the stones have been polished to a glassy sheen by the sandals of millions of Roman...

We've ridden the length of Italy from the Swiss/Austrian borders all the way down to Sicily and then up through the islands of Sardegna and Corsica. I kinda prefer the non-touristy places like Modica in Sicily, lots of old rustic towns and Roman ruins everywhere. And not as many tourists as...
