Whoa. Surprise. And now, we have one leader that can't keep tires on their bike, and another that can't keep their bike running.

City of Toronto motor vehicle sound limits

The RPM measurement issue had to do with SAE J2825, which specifies the test RPM. "Any speed greater than idle" as written into the bylaw is a problematic requirement, because that could include bouncing off the rev limiter, and nothing will be compliant with that.

    Cruising Australia to New Zealand

I've been to Australia; did a few road trips in a hire car for a few days to get the hang of driving on the other side of the road before picking up a motorcycle for the rest of the trip. Sydney feels like Vancouver. I stayed in Katoomba for a few days to do some exploring around the Blue...

    Great day for a ride

Same here; went to Hockley for lunch. No other riders there at the time.

    Weather

At Hockley now. Yes, I rode. Bit windy, and roads are damp ... but generally OK.

    1997 Kawi Vulcan 500 EN

I take it you looked inside the fuel tank. What's in there? Was it empty (good)? If not, and especially if it smelled like varnish inside, that needs to be cleaned out before you even think about seeing if it runs. It will need: Broken stuff replaced (doesn't look like much) Tires (MANDATORY if...

    1997 Kawi Vulcan 500 EN

Running, or not running? Minor digging finds ads for that model that are claimed to run well, but with lower mileage, for $2400 - $3000, knock something off that for the real price as opposed to the advertised price, knock something off for known parts needing to be replaced (how old are the...

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

And the true number that they sold was revealed because they had to recall every single one of them to fix that stainless steel "exoskeleton" from coming unglued from the plastic bits underneath it that they're glued onto. Hah.

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

Certainly (my car is a lousy example for a road-trip car!), but would the ability to charge three times as fast *again* as your car will, at the cost of making the charging plug incompatible with all existing fast-charging stations plus twice as bulky and with a cable several times as resistant...

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

That's a darn good question. This is one of the other tech improvements that would be useful. There's some people on the forums who do nothing but fast charging, and they seem to have been doing okay...

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

These sorts of mostly-clickbait articles keep popping up again, and again, and again, and they seemingly appeal to those with the "petrol station mentality". Most of the time (97%) my EV trickles its way to 80% state of charge overnight while I'm sleeping. I don't care how long it takes. 400...

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

There may be a liability thing, too. Owner presses the wrong button (or someone else drives the car and turns adaptive cruise off) then ... "I thought the car would stop when the traffic in front stopped, and it didn't".

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

Ramcharger engine is chosen largely by "that's what's in production" plus a bit of "that's what people will accept" (marketing), plus also the use as a generator will allow it to run in a decently efficient operating range. Actual usage might seldom need 270 horsepower at 5000 rpm much, but that...
