My personal experience from my 86 Interceptor is Honda is rapidly reducing parts availability. For example, Honda no longer makes the right rad hose, valve cover gasket, and who knows what else.
Good thing those bikes really don't need many parts.
And yes, old bikes are awesome!!!
A few years ago I wanted a brighter head light as well. I tried a Phillips X-treme Power bulb and love them. Way more light than the old halogen, street legal and installs in minutes. They also seem to last, I am starting my 3rd season on the same bulb.

I had the same problem on my CBR and these worked great: http://www.lislecorp.com/divisions/products/?product=376
I got them at Princess Auto for about $30.
Are the bikes better built than the cars?
After a few years the plastic parts on my BMW 530 cracked, the final stage for the blower shorted out and killed my battery, and the electric cooling fan shorted out, caught on fire, and blew a 50 amp fuse.
Mine was also about the same... The battery that comes with the camera is 1110ma/hr. The hi cap is 1750 ma/hr and is the same as some older kodak cameras. (so I now have 5 spare batteries!)

You are right about the remote... I did a driving school at Mosport on Sunday and it was nice to simply hit the button on my wrist to start/stop recording.
Simple answer: I want my content on my site and I don't want ANY advertising. Also, I want to learn more about how to stream video for an up comming project.
First demo is on the front page of my site: http://motorvate.ca I have re-rendered the video down to 640x360 from 1280x720 so it can stream from my site, but after some quick testing it may not play without stopping.
I am still working on the site and trying to optimize streaming video. I had...
I picked up the HD170 Stealth. Audio quality is great with the external mic. Picture quality is on par for a $300 pov camera. Night mode seems to work very well in low light conditions.
I will be doing more testing as the weather warms up.
This is what I do for my street and track bike. The shaft is from an old dot matrix printer that held the print head, (Commadore 1526) and $2 bearings from Princess auto. I balance front and rear.
