You don't need to ride it around, but it helps to run the engine for a few minutes to warm up the oil so it drains more easily.

All of my oils, lubes, chemicals, etc. seemed to have survived just fine. Unfortunately, a lot of my detailing supplies did not. My liquid waxes, polishes, soaps and such all froze. I brought them in to thaw, so we'll see if they're still usable afterwards.
