No it doesn't. 6 hp might not be much on a 100hp bike but you can certainly feel it on a 30hp one.
The only problem with 5 speeds is you either get a little taller first gear or lower 5th. On a bike that ventures off road you usually opt for the lower gear. Neither of these bikes has enough...
Yeah, guys seem to think those things are made of gold around here. The thing is 6 years old and had an MSRP of $8500. Price should be under 4 on those by now. If I were in the market for one I'd be looking south of the border.
Nope
Aaaaaand nope.
Good luck finding one in decent shape with a blue plate. For the prices guys want for them you can grab a KTM 525/530 and actually have KTM performance. It will also be factory street legal.
7 I think. I got mine when it was 3 years old with about 10k on it for $4300. Was pretty mint and used as an in-town commuter before I got my hands on it.
Yeah. You should be able to find one with under 15k on it for those prices. Just keep a close eye on Kijiji. You got lots of time till spring to wait for a deal.
YZ250s make awesome woods bikes. Lots of power and cheap to fix. Toss some crash protection on it and go. A suspension revalve would be a good investment.
Tell me about it. I have spent more money in the last two years on horses than I have in my entire life on bikes. (20 yrs)
Back on topic.
I wouldn't touch either of those DRZs. The Husky would chew up a DRZ but part availabilty is a big problem. Not many dealers around and they are a high...

It's orange, not gold.
For street - RX7 Corsair. Comfortable and awesome ventilation. But I lost a bunch of weight and it's too loose on me now. :(
For dirt - I usually just buy cheaper helmets because they have to be replaced more often.
I race mainly Enduros and Harescrambles with Offroad Ontario. Pretty laid back atmosphere. They have a beginner class (Novice C) and kids classes which usually run a shorter course or mini track. There are 11 races held in Ontario working towards a couple different championships. Entry fees...
That's a lot of messing around. If you buy the SM all you have to do is pick up a set of S wheels and bolt them on.
Obviously I have a bit more done to mine but I never went back to SM.
I was in your position a few years back. I dumped my Z1000 for the DRZsm. I rode it for a bit as an SM and started to venture offroad so I picked up some dual sport tires for my SM wheels. I found after that I was off the pavement more than on. I then found a dirt setup on Kijiji for $500. Once...
The op didn't mention any specific type of riding. Which is why I said that if he was thinking of riding singletrack to stay away from the 600cc+ bikes. The 690 is included.
I do agree that modding a DRZ is a waste. A spare set of wheels and some crash protection is all that is needed on those...
The 690 would be a huge frustrating pig in the singletrack. With the tall road gearing and the heavy weight you'd spend the whole time in first gear trying not to turn the throttle past 1/16th so you don't end up in a tree. You wouldn't get the thing up to enough of a speed to need the benefits...
That's because you drive a 4x4 truck. You didn't end up in a ditch did you? Cause that's the story they'll make up when they tell their wives/girlfriends/post on forums when they get home. :D
