Mocking up the rear seat. It was a gamble to go with the Katana seat, and I'm still not sure about it. Part of me likes it, and part of me thinks it's too long. It also sits a bit higher, because of the stock SV subframe geometry. It will look better when it's done.

Gas leaking from the same carb again. I think it's the float height, yet again. Is there any reason this would keep happening? Should I replace the float itself?

I just picked up the tank from the powder coater. It turned out amazing: We'll see how it holds up, but I think going with a clear powder coat was a great idea. I should have the bike up and running by the end of the week.

I've been busy finishing the tank, and getting some odds and ends figured out. I'm hoping to get the bike rideable by next week so I can take it to a shop where I'll be welding up a subframe and custom exhaust. In the meantime, here's how it's looking:

Yes, was definitely the float height! I'm back in business, took the bike out for an hour.

So it looks like it was the float height that was the problem. Going to reinstall the carbs today and see if it's fixed. I get anxious every time I see a motorcycle on the road and I can't ride, so I'll be very happy to be back on the road ;).

Got the tank back too, but it flash rusted after having the paint stripped. I'm going to sand it down myself, and then GTA custom motorsports will powder coat it clear for a bare metal finish that won't rust. Anyone have experience cleaning rust out from the inside of a tank? I'm thinking...

So I found the cap for the pod filter, which had fallen off. That problem is solved. Still having gas leaking from one of the carbs. I took all of them off the bike and opened up the floats; they all seemed fine. None of them were stuck. They looked really clean too, like they'd been cleaned...

More updates! I managed to reinstall the engine which was surprisingly easier than I thought it would be. I just lowered the frame onto the engine and slid the engine mounting bolts into place. I then lifted the bike on its stands and reinstalled the forks and the front wheel. Here's how it...
