Yeah, I got it the last two years because I have an infant daughter. Any way to reduce the chance of getting the flu and passing it on to her I'll take. I have 1000+ people a day come though my workplace so I will come into contact with the flu. No flu symptoms last year...fingers crossed again...
Yes it is paved. At least up till River road it is. At that point if it isn't too far out of the way, you are better off taking River Road/Sideroad 20 through Terra Nova out to Airport Road and then continue north. That stretch is one of the nicest in the area.
I found a can of Repsol chain lube at a random shop in North Bay that I started using and it seems to work great! Not sure where to get it in the city though. It's a greenish-blue bottle I think.
I've put 30K on my '06 which I bought new in '08.
Bottom line - I wouldn't trade it for anything as it is the perfect bike for me (well aside from maybe an upgrade to the VFR 1200!) You'll get a lot more km out of a tank than any SS - as per above, although I've gotten close to 400km on a tank...
The most recent stories on this from the 11:00 news report that it was once again kite string that did the damage. They showed it in a cops hand after the fact, it was not fishing line. So yet another careless kite flyer losing track of their string and leaving it for someone to get injured!?!
Park at the bottom of Atlantic Ave, south of King Street (free street parking). Then you just go under the track at the GO station and you are in the CNE.
Well vfreak, since you already complimented my bike in another post I think I'd be obliged to come ;o)
I want to see a couple of mods that jay-d made to his bike too.
LOL - there must have been something wrong with that bike. I've put 30K on my '06 and I love it. I have no idea why people make such a big deal about the Vtec 2-4 valve transition, I have never had an issue with it. It does make a small difference in power but I swear it is mostly auditory. You...
I had that same thing happen two summers ago - but it was a dump truck behind me!! Take a good look at your whole tail piece, I had cracks in the bodywork underneath that I didn't even find until a couple of months later. Too late to collect from the driver ;o(
Its about what's right? Who is to say what's right. Wearing gear like a few million (if that) riders in the western hemisphere or riding with no gear like a few billion in Asia?
Just wondering out loud.....
If your going down to MEC you should stop in at Duke's Cycle on Queen east of Bathurst. Not the cheapest shop in town but I'm sure they could find you a comparable bike for under a grand. I know they have a few Treks less than that and a few other brands in that range too. The guys working there...
Other good advice already given. Add to that to keep looking AHEAD where you are going, NOT down at the gravel or over at the ditch you "might" end up in.
On Atlantic Ave, south of King St is the closest you are going to get to the grounds for free (and legal). Park and then walk under the GO train track and voila you are there.
For your VFR - O2 eliminators - bypasses the O2 sensor and smooths out the bike a little. I put them in when I found the bike lagging at a couple of points (like coming of the highway and the bike feeling like it was running out of fuel for a second or two but it wasn't).
Its a $1.00 mod ;o)
