This spring I had frekeyguy do a few things - including head bearings and plugs - on my '98 SRAD 750 track bike.
I'm way out in Fergus, but he was highly recommended to me here on GTAM. I contacted him about my motor issues - which was all I had hoped to sort out originally. He was responsive...
Not sure it's actually safe, but I've done that in years past before I got a trickle charger.
I had the car running before connecting... not sure if turning over the car's engine causes any 'spikes'.
I haven't had anything blow up... but that might just be luck.
Good luck!
Looking for gauges - stock or aftermarket.
Stock gauges missing from my track pig... would love to have at least a tach. Gear indicator even better.
Thanks.
Hey, thanks! I appreciate the guidance. I will contact this Frekeguy...
One more thing... which I suspect Frekeguy might be able to answer: Do you guys know of any good (ie., trustworthy) home mechanics that would want to do a rebuild for cash? I was considering spending somewhere around...
Ok, thanks for taking the time to tell me!
That would be a kick in the *** to find out after.
The reason I was going to swap was to avoid doing engine work... maybe I should consider just doing the head gasket... Wish I knew how to tell if it was just the gasket or if more is wrong...
Hi guys,
Can anyone recommend a decent source for a 98 gsxr750 motor? It's for my track bike... I'm considering replacing the motor and I don't wanna risk dealing with 'known to be shady' places.
Any suggestions? I live in Fergus, so I'm going to call up Zdeno's... but I would like some...
Fergus!!
Lots to do!! We're gettin' a Wally Mart! We're on the MAP!
Yeah, quiet town... but I like it so far... been there with the fam for 3 years.
PM rides and weekends are my thing... I'm near the Zehrs... I know the FEW good roads in the area. Send me a message if ya wanna go ride!
Yeah, I saw the video... Turn 1 wouldn't be my choice of places to go off! Heal up!
Alright: Middlebrook Road... off Elmira Rd. Watch for gravel on the fun corners! ;)
Man, Calabogie seems to claim plenty of daily victims... Was there for a day recently and was surprised at the number of bikes that went down... Including my pavement surfing friend featured in the video below (skip to close to the end if you don't wanna see a full lap).
I'm so glad I didn't...
.... and a new bridge in an old - but great - little road.
now the other direction
plus the close up of the barn.
hint: it's between Elora and Westmontrose... surely a well known road.
It's between Elmira Rd and Wellington Rd 7.
I wondered if the same thing was gonna happen to me....
At least the new one should be easy to spot... especially for the Waterloo-ians....
It's near a McDonald's.
Thanks, I'll try them. Also, how does that mount attach to the handlebar clamp?
Woobie, I'll look at the model number when I get home... it's a Roadmate something something...
Anyone able to recommend any store that would have a selection of 'clamp-on' gps mounts?
I stick mine in the clear pocket of my tank bag - a map pocket, incidentally - for long rides, but I'd much rather not have to look so far down to see it.
Anything? I'm this close to suction-cupping it...
