    Infamous Oil Debate

Not to rain on your parade, but the Rotella 5W-40 is a Group III+ (hydro-isomerised slack wax), while the 0W-40 is a Group IV - what is generally thought of, as a "true" synthetic - along with the few Group V's, that are rated as full synthetics. The 0W-40 does not however, have the JASO...

    Infamous Oil Debate

The 15W-40, is fine for your transmission and equally fine for your engine. It's a bit thick on start up, but not a problem in the warmer weather, that most of us ride in. The Rotella 5W-40 is a better choice, if you're willing to spend the extra coin. Somewhat better flow on start up and you...

    Vstar 120ish top speed?

As already stated, that bike should do well over 160. You mention that it sounds like a "jet engine", when you try to go over 120 - - - have your clutch checked. The extra wind load at higher speeds, may be enough to make the clutch slip, if it's on it's way out.

Like watches? post a pic of your watch, and a pic of your favourite watch

Ya' - they do both. He has more of the ladies watches, than the men's - with the coin you're saving on this one, you could get one for the wife too. Both my daughters have watches from him - - - and I'm a cheap pri - -.

Like watches? post a pic of your watch, and a pic of your favourite watch

Renboy - I talked with my fiend last night, about what you were after. Turns out, he has one of each, an automatic and a quartz (battery). I got the ladies version of the quartz one he has, for my daughter - it's a Gucci (Swiss movement) and is as accurate as my TAG (picks up slightly less than...

Like watches? post a pic of your watch, and a pic of your favourite watch

Renboy - I have a friend (European trained, watch repair guy) who has seems to have a lot of knowledge on all sorts of watches. I learned from him, if you want ultimate accuracy, you have to get one with a quartz accurized movement. He did a cleaning of my Omega Constellation (automatic) and I...

Race - H.D. Ratbike vs Sportbike

I couldn't believe the outcome - rather entertaining. Haven't tried to post a link (if that's what it's called) before. Hopefully it works http://www.liveleak.com/ll_embed?f=4a88a935f5f0

what's diference Motorcycle engine oil and car oil ?

If you're unsure of the suitability of other options and you're more comfortable with purchasing something that's marketed directly to what you perceive your needs to be, then go for it. Some people like to research stuff, in an effort to get past all the "marketing" hoopla and find a product...

what's diference Motorcycle engine oil and car oil ?

The Rotella T6 is a 5W-40. It's rated as a synthetic (Group III+) and has the JASO-MA designation. The Rotella T5 is a 0W-40 and is a synthetic (Group IV), but doesn't have the JASO-MA rating. The 15W-40 you're looking at, is not synthetic - but lots of people use it in their bikes and are very...

Suzuki Boulevard M50 Drum Brakes... are they OK?

Don't be. So long as the brakes are in good working order, you'll be fine. My first two bikes had drum brakes, front and back. You can still lock them up, if you're not careful - just not quite as easily as disc brakes.

    Shooting in Connecticut

A firearms purpose is whatever it's owner intends it's purpose to be - whether that be target shooting, hunting, collecting, or - - - . If someone intends to use their firearm as a weapon, then they certainly have a purpose built tool for that. BUT - that doesn't mean that it's all that firearm...

    Shooting in Connecticut

A marine's letter to Ms. Feinstein Senator Dianne Feinstein, I will not register my weapons should this bill be passed, as I do not believe it is the government's right to know what I own. Nor do I think it prudent to tell you what I own so that it may be taken from me by a group of...

Mounting Stebel air horn on GL1200

Can't help you with where on your bike, to mount this - but, try to get the horn(s) as close to the road surface, as is practical (clearance-wise) - facing forward, obviously - pointing slightly downward. The road acts as a reflecting surface and reinforces the sound of the horn, which amplifies...

Want to buy a battery tender/charger, trickle charger. Also, winterizing question

Short answer - yes. If you're "touching" the terminals with something conductive (metal), make sure you don't also touch anything "grounded" to the bike/battery, if you are "touching" the positive (+) terminal.

    (probably another) battery storage question

If you have an actual "Battery Tender" - yes, you can leave it plugged in, indefinitely. Battery maintainers (Battery Tender Plus, Battery Tender Jr., C-Tek, Optimate, etc.) have an integral circuit that monitors battery charge and will charge the battery once it drops below a pre-determined...
