    Aprilia Shiver

I'd go with the Triumph Street Triple any day of the week. It makes more hp and torque, and the triple engine just feels special.

    damn we need lane splitting

First, unless your location information is incorrect, you live in Stouffville. What kind of traffic do you have there? A tractor and a pair of oxen clogging the roads? Unless you have to battle downtown Toronto traffic every day, every time you step out of your house like I do, it's unfair to...

    Anyone p'd off at Honda?

Comparing apples to apples, I am only looking at models with manual transmissions. Every car I've owned had a manual transmission, and it will be a cold day in hell when I buy a car with an automatic transmission. However I may be willing to compromise on the number of doors or on which wheels...

    Anyone p'd off at Honda?

Well, my last car was a Prelude. But once you own a Prelude, which was a very sporty, well ballanced car (if a bit down on power), where do you go? The Accord V6 6MT which is much heavier and has waaaay too much power for FWD? The Civic Si that feels like a matchbox on wheels and is still down...

    Anyone p'd off at Honda?

Honda seems to be shooting themselves in the foot every chance they get. After owning 5 Honda cars, I took my business elsewhere because NONE of their cars matched my criteria (RWD Sports Coupe with a roof).

Following the manufacturer recommended break in technique will NOT save your engine

It costs me $300 a month to ride, and the bike was unusable due to bad service and bad weather for 6 weeks. Where did you get the $13k figure? The original engine had a pinhole in the crank case due to bad casting. The oil was seeping through the aluminium. Was it repairable? Yes, but Zeno...

Following the manufacturer recommended break in technique will NOT save your engine

Time for an update... I got my new engine installed, and it had a cracked valve cover. When I was riding it, it was spitting so much oil the whole right side of the bike was covered in it. Took it back to the dealer, they swapped the valve cover from my original engine and everything seems to...

    Buy a bike

Did you try the SV650/SV650s? Doesn't have much power, bulletproof engine, FI so you don't have to mess around with carbs, easy on the tires and chain, insurable with any company out there, lots of aftermarket parts available. Also available pretty cheap.

Following the manufacturer recommended break in technique will NOT save your engine

I always varied the revs. Even when I went up north I took side roads as much as possible, went on/off the highway, varied the speed from 100 to 130km/h while shifting 3rd to 6th. Believe me, I do consider myself lucky that I'm getting a new engine, and I'll only be sidelined for 2 weeks. They...

Following the manufacturer recommended break in technique will NOT save your engine

I tried my very best not to lug it, I know it's a terrible thing to do to an engine especially during the break in period. I may have done it a couple of times, but it's not like I was doing 60km/h in 5th gear. Always made sure it had enough power, and always eased on the throttle when riding at...

Following the manufacturer recommended break in technique will NOT save your engine

Admins, this is not really a tech question, so I think it belongs in General Discussion. It's the story all about how I got two new engines within a month. :D I bought my 2010 Suzuki GSXR600 brand new (0km on the odometer) 6 weeks ago, and did my best to break it in properly. I stayed in the...
