    Whose running Bridgestone bt-016 tires?

My 2010 GSXR600 came with them stock. After 6000km, the rear is pretty worn and I doubt it will last more than another 2-3000km. I did about 1500km with a pillion, so that must have had a big impact on longevity. My next set will be sport touring. Even though I try to ride only twisties, in my...

Leather gloves got wet and now are hard and shrunk???

I use Danier's leather conditioner. I'm not sure if it really helps, but it does make the leather a bit softer. As to the shrinkage, you'll have to wear them until you break them in again. There's no way around that.

    I think I'm done

There's your problem. Anyone who rides a bike in an extremely busy city and expects it to be fun is in for a lot of disappointment. I can't even imagine enjoying a ride while competing for position with cars, trucks and pedestrians. Not to mention almost every single street in Toronto is...

It's official! Motorcycling is safer than walking!!

I'm stealing this quote from someone either from this site or elsewhere online. All it takes to commit mass murder is to step out into traffic at Yonge and Dundas and then quickly step back. Have you seen pedestrians walk? I swear, sometimes they have a death wish. Starting to cross on red...

    Recommendations for a 600cc sportbike

The problem with the SV is not the lack of power, but the fact that it handles like a bag of soggy diapers when compared to a modern SS. That is without investing a lot of time and money in upgrades. My old bike was an SV650s, and even with progressive springs, cartridge emulator forks and a...

In just one hour, 10 out of 12 in the pack busted for street racing.

You know, I actually agree with you on that point. But I couldn't see any racing in this case. Let me look up the definition of racing for you: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Racing As far as I can tell, a race involves two or more people competing against each other. In a vehicle, speeding...

    Honda reliability

Sadly CAMVAP does not work very well for consumers. The VAST majority of their decisions (I think to the tune on 97% or more) simply require dealers and manufacturers to fix the problems. Hardly surprising, since they were set up by the manufacturers themselves. Actual vehicle replacements occur...

    Honda reliability

Nicely spotted. :D My old bike was an SV650 and on some sites where croco was too short, I am svcroco. Doesn't mean I still own it though, although now I wish I did. That bike did not give me a single problem for 30k km even though I tracked it, beat on it, rode it in the rain, slush and salt. I...

    Honda reliability

Well, be glad you don't own a Suzuki. My 2010 GSXR600 has 6200km (bought it brand new in the spring) and it's original engine had a pinhole in the crank case from factory, the "brand new" replacement* engine had a cracked valve cover from factory and now it's fan is not kicking in at random...

    OPP driving style

Once I get my bike back from service I WILL get a camera to film me at all times. That officer would have gotten into trouble, but as it stands it would be my word against his. And we all know a normal persons' word is worth close to nothing compared to that of a cop. I've had worse in my...

    OPP driving style

No, it all happened so fast. All I could think of afterwards was how lucky I was, didn't even consider turning back until it was too late. What really upset me is that somebody must have been speeding on that straight stretch, which for some bizarre reason has a limit of 60km/h, even though it's...

    OPP driving style

Last weekend I hit some of the roads in Muskoka, and I had an interesting experience involving an OPP cruiser. On the 141 going west from 11 towards Rosseau there is a very long, perfectly straight stretch with a speed limit of 60km/h, preceded and followed by a few curves that are completely...

Is it really that difficult to put a helmet on?

You edited out the entire argument I was making. Your using the slippery slope argument, that is if the government mandates one thing, then they will end up controlling everything. That is false, because I'm sure you can name at least of dozen government regulations you agree with. But as I said...

BMW riders! What's up with you?!

I was thinking of your bike model when I was reading the OP's post. Goes to show a lot of people do not care what kind of bike they ride, just the name plate on the tank. Not to stir up the pot, but I think if HD were to release a SS*, there will be people buying it just because it's HD. *...

Is it really that difficult to put a helmet on?

You are either one of those people who I see riding half naked all the time, or you're trolling. Sorry, but what you are describing are general habits that have much deeper psychological and physiological implications. Poor diet is caused by so many factors, like poverty, stress, depression...

Is it really that difficult to put a helmet on?

The only problem with that theory is if he gets into an accident and suffers severe injuries. Then the province, or in other words your taxes and mine, will pay for his medical bills and long term care. So as far as I'm concerned, as long as I'm paying taxes, I can demand everybody to wear a...

Bike knocked over at the gas station :(

Yep, but in this case the frame damage makes all the difference in the eyes of the insurance company. He can only get a new frame from the dealership because I truly doubt his insurance company will accept a random frame he sourced from Ebay. He may as well have the frame replaced at the...

Bike knocked over at the gas station :(

True, but your scenario will only really affect him within the next year or so, until the bike will depreciate another $2000. But in the meantime he's riding a almost free bike, and barring an accident, he'll keep riding a free bike. I'd trade those scratches on his bike for a $6000 check any...
