    Insurance too high?

The blame for our insurance premiums being the most expensive in North America falls squarely at the feet of the Ontario Liberal Party, and nowhere else.

Yeah, I'm talking cleaning, storage, and maintenance, none of which are useless.

    Single-sided Swingarm stand

With Ducatis, you can just buy a piece of aluminum rod, stick it through the axle so it hangs out 4" on both sides, and use a regular spool stand.

Thoughts on The Misfit by Cleveland Cyclewerks

The stigma of poor Japanese quality was simply political. There never was a factual basis for this, and owners quickly realized, and spread the word, that Japanese quality was immediately superior to North American, or especially British competition. Harley even got the American government to...

    1199 Panigale sight unseen?

No, we're telling customers that NOW. The Panigales are sold out, at least as far as Western Ontario is concerned.

    1199 Panigale sight unseen?

I'm a salesman at Apex in Waterloo. There is no second or third production runs. What has been made by now is all that will be made. If you look at the VIN plates of Ducatis, almost none are made past May. Anything after that is going to be a next-year model. We have been out of Monster...

    1199 Panigale sight unseen?

I'm a Ducati salesman. I respect your opinions, topendz, based on what I've seen in the past, but you are wrong on this. We ordered 17, we got 17 downpayments, then we were given two more from a Quebec dealer who couldn't live up to obligations. Ducati only builds to pre-orders, they are far...

Anybody know if there is a Ural demo day anywhere in Ontario this summer?

Ken at Old Vintage Cranks is one of the most accomodating guys around, and even he doesn't allow test rides. Until you're used to them, they're really fairly difficult to control. I started mine the first time and promptly drove straight into a pine tree. Allowing Ural test rides would be an...

Damn alarm killed the battery... again.

I just put a switch under the seat on the positive lead, so that if I'm not using the alarm, I turn off all power to the alarm module, then just turn it on when I need to use the alarm. Problem solved.

I do know where there could be an '88 RZ350 coming up for sale. Red and white, some repainting, but properly done, original pipes, and ridden daily. 50000 kilometers or so and a welded crank. PM me if anybody's interested. It'll be under $3000.

    Honda NC700

A 6500 rpm rev limiter and a single front disc brake? Except for the $9000 price tag, and modern Hondas working hard to suck all the soul out of motorcycling, this could be a 1973 CB350 all over again. For a list price of $799, you only got 15 less horsepower with the CB!!!!!!

Getting Back On The Ride, After Injury

While stopped, I was t-boned by a minivan going 60 km/h. Called my wife (calmly) from the pavement, then don't remember anything for five days. I was resuscitated in the ambulance when my heart stopped, and waited thirteen hours in an emergency room hallway to see if my liver and kidneys were...
