It's dramatic due to exasperation, I've seen this too many times. This "mechanic" who thinks passenger hand grips are a safety item is a complete idiot. I hate it when people get jerked around by fools like this.

It has a nice enough engine, and it's light. BUT.....................it's also very low and VERY cramped for a big guy. I'm 5'10 with a long inseam and I was fairly squished on it.

Your squirrely issue is a fuel injection issue. The 950 bolt has the same incremental throttle jack effect. The 900 Vulcan doesn't due to a more refined EFI paired with effective secondary throttle body butterflies.

I used to ride 365 days a year for my job. The coldest days were around -30 or whatever the lowest low was between 1993 and 1997. Sidecar equipped bikes were an option which was used on icy roads or heavy snowfalls.
Not horrible wearing full snowmobile gear.
