My $1400 dainese suit has the same padding as my $3000 d-air. Elbow sliders are for dragging your elbow. There's no real hip padding in either suit which is why I wear Knox padded shorts. I also wear a chest protector with both suits. Every time I've crashed wearing my alpinestars supertech...
You can run 200 slicks on your bike no problem so not to worry there. The issue is now you'd want tire warmers which brings along a generator. The Q3+ or something along those lines will give you lots of tire life and grip until you're ready to make the switch to a proper track/race tire. Try...
Wheels/rotors for that bike are a dime a dozen. Get a decent dry tire and a set of take off rains. If it takes you more than 15min to switch tires you need to put down the tools.
You seem to already know what you want to do even though you've been given lots of good advice so, enjoy the...
Just keep at it. Push your brake/acceleration markers further/sooner and take little steps. Brake 5' later and accelerate when you exit of the corner and can see where you want to go. Braking later is easier then exploring traction levels of the rear tire. If you can get with an instructor to...
To warm up my throttle control I firmly hold the throttle wide open after start up. This warms the engine and rev limiter up thoroughly. Then 2-3 burnouts while again on the rev limiter ensures the back tire is warmed followed by a few stoppies to get the front up to working temperature. I am...
You ride less but there's more work to do it seems at nationals. Regionals you just kinda go with the flow and missing a practice session is no big deal. Very different feeling in the paddock.
You should come to Mosport! Your mind will be blown.
It's weird going back to regionals after nationals and yes the costs are almost the same for the bike except for spec fuel which you only need for the race and qualifying.
Glad you had fun!
SOAR has waved starts but when CSBK comes there we had less than 20 riders in the classes and almost all are the regular national riders. I was a bit surprised but not shocked.
Re: Cyclist hit and run
Every time I ride my bicycle I get at least 5-6 cars who seem to enjoy trying to hit me with their mirror. These are country roads with lots of visibility or a lightly used two lane road that offers plenty of opportunity to move over without needing to even touch the...
Have a shop do it and ship the new piston/rings with the cylinder. I haven't heard anything good about the place in Que that does it and mine went to the US to be done. I think it went here http://mt-llc.com/
Shifting your weight forward will cause your front end to dig in and plow into loose gravel/dirt. Watch guys racing in sand, weight as far back as possible, brake early, gas through the corner, all to prevent the front from plowing and causing you to crash.
