    Yamaha Star/VStar Riders roll call...

I'm considering it. Looks very nice - "meaner" in fact. I'll see if I can get a 2012 model or even a 2011 in brand new. I'm trying to stay in the 12k range after taxes, freight and PDI.

    Yamaha Star/VStar Riders roll call...

2013 model 1300cc edit: Its not very clear but the writing on the tank says "Eighty Inch". Not sure if thats a one off custom model. I haven't seen the Black and Red trim anywhere. Even the black seats had red stitching on them. Very classy looking.

    Yamaha Star/VStar Riders roll call...

Thanks kmalek, appreciate the feedback. I'm used to higher cc's - I had a CBR 929RR Fireblade before this. I'm not used to cruisers though so it will definitely take some time to adjust. $$ is always an issue but since I'm looking for a "keeper" bike for the next 4-5 years I think it's worth...

    Yamaha Star/VStar Riders roll call...

I'm in the market now looking for a VStar. Can't decide if I want to go brand new or buy used. Also, can't decide whether 650cc is good or 1100cc is the way to go. Any suggestions welcome. p.s. I don't want to hijack this thread - all your bikes look amazing! If this warrants its own thread...

Gear shifts too noisy and bike jerks..

Thanks all for the advice / suggestions. I was able to make it to Rosey Toes yesterday and take Dave's & Ted's advice on it as well. Apart from an oil change and some chain lubrication, everything seems to be OK in the bike. They did mention what Stewart said above as well .. Honda's have this...

Gear shifts too noisy and bike jerks..

Thanks very much Gryphon! Yes the clutch is cable-operated and i'll get it checked out. It does look like the problem is what you are saying cos the 'giant jerk' is very much there.

Gear shifts too noisy and bike jerks..

Hi all, This is probably one of my first posts here. Ive been a lurker for a while looking at classifieds and reading up general stuff on this forum. Really great I must say. So, to the point.. I purchased a 2000 CBR 929 RR Fireblade last week and I must say its been a fantastic joyride but...
