Brethren... I finally bought a bike from the Super Show today.
2003 V Star 1100cc Custom with 30k clicks from GP Bikes.
VERY EXCITED!!
Spring can't get here fast enough!
I'm considering it. Looks very nice - "meaner" in fact. I'll see if I can get a 2012 model or even a 2011 in brand new. I'm trying to stay in the 12k range after taxes, freight and PDI.
2013 model 1300cc
edit: Its not very clear but the writing on the tank says "Eighty Inch". Not sure if thats a one off custom model. I haven't seen the Black and Red trim anywhere. Even the black seats had red stitching on them. Very classy looking.
I just happened to see one at the motorcycle show last weekend and I fell in love with it. Don't know if the iPhone app will let me attach it but here goes!
Thanks kmalek, appreciate the feedback. I'm used to higher cc's - I had a CBR 929RR Fireblade before this. I'm not used to cruisers though so it will definitely take some time to adjust. $$ is always an issue but since I'm looking for a "keeper" bike for the next 4-5 years I think it's worth...
I'm in the market now looking for a VStar. Can't decide if I want to go brand new or buy used. Also, can't decide whether 650cc is good or 1100cc is the way to go. Any suggestions welcome.
p.s. I don't want to hijack this thread - all your bikes look amazing! If this warrants its own thread...
Thanks all for the advice / suggestions. I was able to make it to Rosey Toes yesterday and take Dave's & Ted's advice on it as well. Apart from an oil change and some chain lubrication, everything seems to be OK in the bike. They did mention what Stewart said above as well .. Honda's have this...
Thanks very much Gryphon! Yes the clutch is cable-operated and i'll get it checked out. It does look like the problem is what you are saying cos the 'giant jerk' is very much there.
Thanks bobjohnson, i'll get the oil flushed and put some new oil in. Thanks also for the mechanic suggestions. Anyone else know a guy close to Yonge / Sheppard?
Hi all,
This is probably one of my first posts here. Ive been a lurker for a while looking at classifieds and reading up general stuff on this forum. Really great I must say.
So, to the point..
I purchased a 2000 CBR 929 RR Fireblade last week and I must say its been a fantastic joyride but...
