I've ridden 13.5 hrs on an '09 Ninja 250 before, 11-12 hour rides on my FZ more than I can count on one hand and a couple 11-12.5 hour rides on my ZX. It's not the riding length or kms for myself that worries me, it's just for all the gear staying stable and attached properly without falling or...
Im not entirely sure I'd trust plstic snaps for 20-40 lbs of gear over my 300 lb straps to be comletely honest. I also have many bungees, maybe close to 50 of various lengths and thicknesses. I'd want these straps capable of 140-170 kmhish plus head wind for passing. Some passing gaps are very...
Those Rok Straps look nice but I already have a few light duty ratcheting tie down straps that would look to do the same, if not a more secure job. Thanks for the offer of the bags also, but I would much rather get my own. I have no idea what's going on for my trip yet, just trying to get some...
This summer I plan to go on a 2-3 week trip (Either out east or out west) and I would like to take my zx6r. I will be camping. I have a small 3 person tent I usually bring with a tarp in case of rain. Does anyone know of a good way to fasten the tent and other things I may need to the back of my...
Bingo. Saved me quite a few times on my FZ. I haven't ridden my ZX in enough low grip situations to get in trouble from it yet but running into these situations with my FZ first taught me a lot of respect for "more powerful" bikes in low grip situations.
I'll consider it but no promises. I'd need to get the day off work as the bike is hidden in my parents' underground in Scarborough and I'm in Etobicoke. PM me of plans if the weather doesn't turn sour and I'll ask my boss on wednesday or thursday for friday off.
LOL thread jack.
Icon Airmada. It's my current helmet and the best I've worn out of the Icon alliance II or whatever it was, Scorpion exo 400 and shoei rf1100. The one thing I love the most is when I look to the side to do a shoulder check for a lane change, my head never gets thrown back and I don't get...
And good for you. I spend 2 hours a day minimum commuting, I'm just not a pussy about it and I enjoy dedicating time to my favourite hobby. I'm a bit upset I didn't get more kms out of summer than I did. I didn't get to go on my planned Nova Scotia trip this year.
'12 zx6r, I get about $15-18 on 200 km, depending how I'm feeling those particular work days. I tend to stay in lower gears when I'm frustrated and feel like I need to vent more. Compared to my '11 Edge, I don't care what mileage this bike gets cause it can't be any worse, haha.
Well said. I go 3+ hours on a 400 series highway out of the GTA just to find roads that are decent enough. If you want to find a good highway either hit up the Cabot or the 138 in Quebec north east of Quebec City.
And don't complain about uncomfortable bikes, I ride an SS.
Update. He only actually had surgery earlier today. He had a rod hammered up his tibia. He's being released sunday. He normally lives alone so I'm forcing him to live with me for a while to make everything easier on him.
My very close friend went down this morning at about 6:45 am on the 401 west just after entering from Dixon Rd. A few of you rode with him, I brought him along on just about all rides I lead and participated in last year. He used to have a black 250, just got a green 2012 650 ninja brand new...
I was three hours from home too (Haliburton), with a friend on a 250 who got hit with the same ticket. No way he could have accelerated to the same speed with me on my old fz6r (I was in front). I was very happy he let us off easy. He said the impound for a week there was $1300 alone, which I...
^^ I got lucky last year. Caught +65 but ticketed for +49 because I actually stopped the cop said, lol. If I had have been slapped with the full ticket I would have been forced out of riding for quite a few years for financial reasons. Really opened my eyes.
That being said, I'd only give up...
