Thats what I would like to do as it's all in good shape, just old. But so many people have drilled into my head that modern fuel with ethanol will destroy my lines and o-rings.
That makes sense for the braiding to be for abrasion resistance, it is in a few very tight spots. Thanks
Quick question, I want to replace my 30+ year old fuel lines with something more modern that can deal with ethanol fuel. I understand the o-rings and such in the carbs are probably made from the same old rubber, and they will be replaced with a full carb service at the end of this season.

Oh buddy, They pack a punch! 1983 V65 Magna fastest production bike in the world (and it's a cruiser!). For some reason I thought you had a ST1100 V4? Must have been thinking of someone else
Haha, that's how I do mine too! Makita corded grinder makes quick work of the chain and rear sprocket. I don't use mine enough to need battery powered one, but I am definitely a Makita fanboy. I have their brushless 18v set with the 3.0ah batteries, I've put in over a thousand screws on a single...
All good tips for sure. We have been taking it easy, a few km's every few days, all has been well. Picked him up from school today on it! Biggest smile ever. Less than 1km away from home. Might help to mention I'm on an old 84 Magna so no wheelies, crazy leans or hooligan stuff. No real...
Everyone is right, relax your body and learn to deal with it. My Magna gets tossed around a LOT on the highway, I tend to tighten up my knees on the tank and let it dance.
www.partzilla.com has exploded views of every bike. Pick your year/model/make, select the section near where you were working, see if you can find that part on the exploded diagram and figure it out. Might help to take pictures of everything you do for reference next time
Thanks for all the tips. We spent a couple days finding properly fitting gear for him, I know he will outgrow it but that's what kids do. We have had trouble finding an armored jacket in his size so we got him one of those motocross suits with a sweater overtop of it. Vox helmet XS fits his head...
My cheapo Ebay masters worked for a bit, but the clutch side has started to bind and grind a bit, polluting my fluid. I reverse bled the slave so there's no shmoo in my system, but it can't stay like that forever. Brake side still seems to be working well. Anyone have an old one sitting around...
He is 3' 11" and reaches both passenger pegs comfortably, and he is only a couple inches away from his fingertips touching when wrapping around me. Thanks for the offer Iceman, that one puts the child in the back right? Might take you up on that
My 5 y/o son recently started asking to come on my bike, so we bought him a helmet and gloves a few weeks ago. We've been over the 'rules' many times: Always hold on tight, lean with me in the corners, never be silly and never be scared. We went on our first ride yesterday and he had a blast...
It 'could' if they were worn down to the metal and slapping around in there, but that shouldn't change on accel/decel/weight shifts. As for pinpointing it you'll have to get a helper to check it over while you sit on it, or vice versa. I'm a bit far from you but if you were riding today I would...
that sounds like something is rubbing when your suspension is compressing. won't be able to see it when you're off the bike but once you sit on it and accel or decel it rubs.
I have a new guy at work right now like that. Can't put a screw in to save his life, mid 20's but not a grain of work experience. Too many pre-workouts and gym talk, no room for brains.
