    MotoSocial

Last motosocial of the year is today folks. I'll be leaving from Barrie at the bayview Tims around 7pm, or look for the old black magna while you're there

helmet fit - how tight is too tight?

I spent over an hour trying on helmets at GP last week. I brought my riding headphones, glasses and sunglasses to try them all out. You really should do something like that for a helmet, it let me figure out exactly what brands and styles fit my head shape the most. My first helmet I bought...

    I did it again.

Thats crazy, even with an air-hawk I need a butt break every hour or 2 depending on how much I'm moving in the saddle. Good job, maybe I'll attempt it one day. I do 400k a day for work sometimes haha.

    Sad Day ... Stolen 2011 ZX6R ... :(

Ahh. I'll admit I don't really know that much about it, just seemed weird to me and saw that video pretty quick so I came to an assumption. I have not tried cutting through a big expensive specialty-chain personally so I could very well be wrong :) cheers. As for something that would help, I...

    Mouse Nest In my BIKE!!???

At least it wasn't in your air filter, there is a big Ziploc freezer bag FULL of mouse nest bits from someone's bike they brought in for service on the wall at Cycleworld

    Sad Day ... Stolen 2011 ZX6R ... :(

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_CRAz04oTog Cut through hardened steel thicker than his finger in under 35 seconds. Doubt you would have a chain any thicker than that. I agree thats it's a good deterrent, but still not enough to protect your bike

    Sad Day ... Stolen 2011 ZX6R ... :(

Are these chains really gonna help against any scrub with a battery powered grinder and cutoff wheel though? You could go through even the biggest chain in seconds tbh

    Safety certify in Scarborough

Cycle World on sheppard is pretty good. They take walk-ins and they know their stuff, lots of mechanics on hand.

    Clutch adjustment woes....

This seems way too complicated. It's a freakin' clutch cable with 2 barrel adjusters, right? How is that so hard to figure out lol. And TBH you WANT the engagement point to be at the very start of the lever pull, no need to pull the lever all the way in everytime, just a quick squeeze and shift...

Any recommendations on earphones (music, google maps directions) for riding ?

Thats why I use the silicone tips, the foamies were too much. Even then if I put it up to 70%+ volume i cant hear a thing

The guy I sold my CBR300 to took the mirrors off and it fit in the back of a honda oddysey no problem

    Chain Maintenance

There were no blown-out o-rings, no corrosion or kinks, the screw-type master link was still good, and that bike had a adjustment sticker on the back that showed the range of new chain | | | | | | | | | replace chain. It was always in the range and with proper slack.

    Tire wear

When I raced BMX back in the day, Kenda's were that tire that "could" do, but you avoided it if possible. I would LOVE an old set of K-rad's though. If that applies to moto's, I would probably pick up a more trusted brand next time. I have some super cheapo Duro tires on my Magna (I think it was...

    Chain Maintenance

I "clean" mine about once every 10000km. Just spray the crap out of it with WD-40 and hold the chain with a rag while spinning the rear tire. Repeat until "clean". I lube every 1000km or after any wet conditions (washing, rain ride, left outside in the rain) with Lucas chain lube. First Honda...

Any recommendations on earphones (music, google maps directions) for riding ?

The plugfones won't last if you use them constantly. Think of how long a regular foam earplug lasts. I commute everyday and sometimes wear them at work, I would destroy the plugfones in a matter of weeks. My shure's are from this time last year and still like new, hundreds of hours on them. They...

Any recommendations on earphones (music, google maps directions) for riding ?

True, I went through hundreds of dollars in earbuds before I found the Shure's. A good cheap alternative are the M3's at Canada Computers for about $30, nowhere near the quality but the same fit (good for helmets) and the memory foam tips block a good amount of sound. The phone makes a...

    Gender Bender crazyness

I need a group hug, its just too much to handle. These soft little pillows need a smack of reality, maybe 2. Snowflakes.

Any recommendations on earphones (music, google maps directions) for riding ?

I use the Shure se215's with the grey rubber tips. The black memory foam tips actually blocked too much sound for my liking. You can play music through them at the lowest volume and its still crisp

2019 new model cbr300r due on showroom floor soon.

Agreed, but you're buying the quality and longevity of a Honda, not a KTM. I've heard bad things about KTM's small motors.

2019 new model cbr300r due on showroom floor soon.

Its just a big grom! I loved my CBR300 for the 2.5 years I owned it, shaving off ~35lbs was one of the best things I did to it. Now they've done that themselves, you could easily drop another 30lbs in gizmos and slip-on, this thing will rip! As for the HP, who cares, its a 300. It's not supposed...
