    Maintaining and parts for Nortons

As a 30 year rider and BSA owner, and mechanically inclined, I would suggest the Norton has Mega cool factor, but don't do it. One of the monikers for these was Notruns. If you want information , check out Wallridge Motors for parts etc. I use him, he is solid, mail order no problem.

    drill out foot peg holes

Since you are asking I will assume you don't have much experience in this area. You need to use a steel cutting drill bit, and a drill press with a vise is recommended. If you use a hand drill, be aware that the drill will catch, and try to injure your wrists. So if you tackle this brace...

punching vin number into new frame ?

If you are stuck on using the new frame, just have your # punched in the appropriate place. I would not try to transfer through the government, as this can open a large can of worms.

chain adjustment on or off a stand?

Seriously, adjust the chain on the side stand, this simulates the road attitude of the suspension the most. You do not have to have the tire off the ground to adjust it.

Third front baring gone is as many months

Those are simple ball bearings on a well engineered axle system. I would speculate someone is not taking the time to inspect the parts, or adjust the wheel correctly. I would be inclined to make reference of my lawyers name, and the incredible liability involved with a front wheel failure. This...

    old motorcycle insurance help

I have a policy through Aviva, broker is Dalton Timmis (Hamilton, Burlington). I had to get a professional appraisal, ($120?) good for 5 years. Gives me full appraised coverage, had a not at fault accident, they paid up, and no real issues. No restrictions that I am aware of. It is about same...

Sunday 9 AM ride (June 26)

Hi Sunny, I enjoyed the ride last Sunday for as long as I lasted. I hope I didn't offend by splitting early. Most of the group was more advanced than I, and I didn't want to hold you up. Anyway thanks for the fun, and enjoy your rides.

    Suzuki GS500F Help!

Rest assured fellow members, as a 30+ year steel mill machinist, I know what to check for, how to check it, how to fix it, and if it is scrap. My reason for existence in the machine shop is to repair steel mill machinery when it wears out, and crashes. Vehicle crashes are horrendous, but mild...

    9 year old passenger?....

I used to ride mt 12 year old to football practice, him in full gear plus bike helmet. I would be sorry to see such a law, the guvment sticks its nose in too much already. all the laws in the world will never stop poor judgement anyway.

Did anyone else ride a BSA to Dover Today? Or anything else old or Interesting?

I rode out to Dover from the Hammer on my 1967 BSA A65L, for the second time. I stuck to the back roads for the most part, sorry if you were behind me, the old beast is only comfortable at 80k and slower. I didn't see any other Beezers, and very few British. One cool exception was a single cyl...

    Buffalo Shops

A place called CBI in niagara falls NY not far from rainbow bridge. Been using him for years, normal packages are 5.95 US each. I have called and been informed when my stuff is in. Usually you can tell stuff is there from tracking data. The guy is solid, would vouch for him anytime. Larry
