I'm afraid the answer is not going to help your case. Switching to weather mode actually makes it easier for the gun acquire the target's speed since it removes some of the safeguards built into the programming . Basically the gun discards reflections from under 200 feet I think

The testers take a look at your bike and make sure your horn works etc. I had a problem with one of my two tail running lights and they wouldn't have done the test if it wasn't working.
