Do you like riding in groups?

I don't mind riding in groups, it's pretty fun every once in a while. Lately I've been on a few really well organized large group (10+) rides with some friendly riders. I will continue to go those ones. But I've also been on a few in the past with some real winners as well. I tend to try to...

Shell Rotella T6 oil on Sale at Canadian Tire

I'm running motul 5100 in my bike right now and it's fine so the 7100 will be just fine too. But I will be switching over to t6 now that my bike has reached the dealer recommended number of kms to switch to synthetic. I've read good things so I'll give it a try for 10K kms and see if I like it...

using low viscosity rated oil in summer (ie: 5w-40 instead of 10w-40)

Probably because no bike usually sees starting temperatures below -20C. If they did I bet the cold weight would be lower.

using low viscosity rated oil in summer (ie: 5w-40 instead of 10w-40)

The 5w rating just means the oil will flow better at colder temps than the 10w. Most of the damage to any engine is done at start up and even more so when it's colder outside. My bike oil recommendation is 10w40. I have no problem running 5W40 oil as long as it meets or exceeds the API rating...

    BMW owners movement!

I had my 10k service done (Nov 2012) at Serpa ( this was before knowing about Budd's). I had the bike certified and checked over 1 day before at Z1 cycletech. Serpa found that the coolant was low, I asked if there was any leaks or why the coolant could be low. They told me there was no leak, and...

    GS 500 vs Ninja 500

I owned a Ninja 500 for years. It was a great bike that I did a number of long cruises with. My friend is currently riding a GS 500 and it seems pretty solid as well. He uses it as a daily commuter and it's just fine on the highway. I'm not sure about gas mileage for the GS. With the Ninja I...

Who's going to "Surviving the Streets" training June 23rd?

I was thinking about signing up for this but wasn't sure if it was strictly geared towards cruisers or not. Also it's highly weather dependent :P

Has anyone taken the "Suriving the Streets" Course?

I've been wondering about this too... I don't own a cruiser but I wouldn't mind taking a course like this and the price is good! Do they mind if you don't ride a cruiser?

    Scary thought...

Be aware of what's around you. Wear your gear. Practice. That's pretty much all you can do to prepare. Don't let the fear of getting injured complicate your joy of riding. If that day comes where you're too afraid to ride, it's time for a new hobby... Arial Atom maybe?

Looking for a used bike as a new rider

I bought my last 2 bikes of kijiji and it wasn't a problem. The only way you're going to know if the pic matches the description is to go out and check it out. But that's part of the fun and you might score a really good deal! I'd suggest taking someone with you that knows a thing or two about...

    First ride?? Advice please??

Motorcycles are pretty different beasts compared to pedal bicycles...There have been so many entertaining threads lately that my work days are not as boring as they used to be. I'm not sure if this is a troll or not but i'm gonna offer up a different perspective... First the size of the engine...

How's the Durham College M1 exit course?

I took this course years ago and it was a pretty solid course. We had a variety of bikes (Some dirtbikes I forget what model, CBR125s and Suzuki Marauder 250s) I thought the course was well done and I had never been on a bike before. Things were well explained we got a lot of practice time and...
