Wow you're getting 4.2 L? that's impressive I'm in the 4.8L/100km marker on the onboard fuel gauge. I haven't been able to fill up past 13L either lol and I get about 300 km / tank
Compared to my car yes my bike is great on gas. I'm at about 4.8L /100km on average (I do communte and I take the 401 regularly). That probably helps a lot with fuel economy. On spirited rides I've done some calcs and I'm averaging about 5.2L/100km which isn't bad lol
You're correct eventually everything will cancel out and you'll reach equilibrium when the bike is stopped. But your stopping distance greatly depends on the friction between your tires and road and how much brake force can be applied to your rotors to give you maximum braking. I figured the OP...
There are a ton of factors to take into consideration depending how in depth you want to go. Here's just a few I can think of: contact patch size (size of front and rear), cefficients of friction between what ever tire compound you have (will need to call manufacturer) and the asphalt (use...
I would first turn your multimeter to the diode setting [--|>--] then hook up one lead to the (+) on the center jacket plug and (-) to the side of the jacket plug. If your jacket is using resistive wire you should hear a beep. That means there is continuity (it's like one big wire).

love my bike! never would have though I'd own a bmw and it's by far the most compliant and comfortable bike I've owned. It's not the best at anything but it's fantastic at pretty much everything and it's very reliable.
Depends what you want to record (sorry I didn't read the whole thread). But have you checked out the drift HD Ghost? I'm also looking for an action cam and I'm debating between the hero3 and hd ghost and I'm leaning more towards the hd ghost because of form factor, auto looping record and...
I guess the only inconvenience is getting a ride back from the dealership. I dropped mine off for it's 20k service and i'm really happy with the dealership I went to. Everything was straight forward and they do have a loaner program. If I was in the market to buy new I would definitely consider...
Thanks for the replies lol I do believe that the windsor route is a soul crusher... I've done this drive so many times on the 401 and yes it's terribly boring I don't know if I'd want to do that too many times with the bike. Looking for alternative routes... we're pretty much set on this...
Hi Everyone,
While I've done this route many times between the GTA and Windsor with my car (it's probably one of the most boring drives ever...) I've never done this trip on a bike. I've been trying to find some half decent routes to makes this trip a little more interesting.
Hopefully Some...
The bike controls you'll have to get used to (they are pretty intuitive though) once you get that down if you know how to drive a manual shifting is pretty much the same just operated by different limbs. But that said a lot of the things transferred over from my driving training (down shifting...
For the bugs : Autoglym bug / tar remover
Degreasing : Simple green
Cleaning: Chemical guys Citrus wash and gloss (I bought this for my car so I use this for the bike)
Detailing: Pledge / Natty's Red wax (I bought this for the car too)
Just from reading what I've read so far sounds like a ****** deal. The cop was already biased and that's not right but you might consider these options:
1. getting a camera for the bike (this is high on my to do list specifically for incidents like this) I already have one in my car that's...
Condolences to this guy's family... I work on my car in my garage quite a bit. Definitely makes you think twice about safety. I usually try to have a back up when using jack stands and I'm a lone If I take the wheels off, I put them under the frame rails incase the jack fails. If I don't I...
One of the guys I met riding wears these LG Tone (HBS-700). For solo riding it seems like a nice piece of hardware. I might pick one of these up to listen to tunes, gps directions and answer phone calls, etc.
The good:
Riding on the highway isn't too bad. I ride the 401 for my daily commute but I do have a larger bike. I have seen quite a few 250cc bikes on the highway and they don't seem like they have any problems at all. The 50cc scooters in Ontario are considered limited-speed motorcycles...
