Thank you everyone for your input! Just to clarify, I have only been riding for 6 weeks, but I had some experience from 10 years back (high school) when I rode my friend's Ural once and a while... I was leaning towards a Ninja 650, and after your input I think it is the best choice for me...

I would if I could just go and buy 2007 125cc Honda CBR. They go for around $1800. Its not a lot of money but every bit right now goes towards the house. Hopefully I will manage to save a little (tax return?) :). Thanks for your reply.
