    Thinking of scootering

My wife has a SYM HD200 and loves it. 173cc, liquid cooled, and full sized tires. SYM used to make some scoots for Honda, and my wife's has been rock solid.

Tips: Motorcycle as primary mode of transport.

Another consideration for me riding around town is visibility. A taller bike lets you see over most cars, and puts you at eye level to many SUV's & trucks.

Tips: Motorcycle as primary mode of transport.

This is why I love my Versys as a commuter / many purpose bike. Maybe a few of these things will help you narrow it down: Fun to ride Comfortable riding position; even when caught in traffic Tall screen option for weather protection It's reliable, and I can do most maintenance with limited tools...

    Good Coffee Shops

Grounded Coffee Co. in Midland amazing. It's also the butter tart festival in Midland this weekend, so what better reason for a little road trip?

    Buying Parts/Gears in the States

I usually use Revzilla if the deal is right, and have it shipped to a shipping depot in Port Huron. I have always tried to buy locally first, but even with exchange, sometimes local folks can't touch the discounts. I will always find my price and then ask around to see if anyone can come close...

    Sharp Rider / Total Control

Nope, but it's not a track course, so the only alteration to your bike is that they take a few lbs of pressure out of your tires. A few hard parts got scraped yesterday, but no bikes down. There were a few guys from California on rented bikes as well.

    Sharp Rider / Total Control

After a few years of trying to figure out what would be a good training course, i pulled the trigger on Total Control. I am a shift worker, live in London, and have been riding about 12-15000 km / year for about the last 8 years. Being a shift worker with a messed up sleep schedule, i don't have...

Dirt and track courses for street riders

I'm doing the Total Control course next weekend after considering a track course and dirt course as well. I think for city riding it probably has the most usable content. I also plan on doing one training course per year, so I will probably end up doing a dirt and track course as well at some...

    Opinions on Distanza's

I ran fronts on my last Versys (no rears to fit). They lasted about 20ish thousand, and I completely agree with the handling comments posted by Delboy. Traction in the rain was really impressive too, and not terribly loud for the design of the tire. FWIW, I ran Scouts on the back.

    Great rate at TD MM

Me and my wife are about $1 / cc with TD MM, plus we saved almost $2000 / year switching house, condo, and cars over.

Anyone else out still riding on the nice days?

Anyone else out still riding on the nice days?

They coated the roads with salt in London this morning for no apparent reason. Hoping the rain Monday washes it away, cuz i'm not done yet.

23% better ...where's the rate break....???

Maybe rates would have gone up an extra 15% if it weren't for the fiberals, so now they can say we saved 15%!

The people who put the bike away already.

I put over 500 km on this week commuting on overnight shift. A bit chilly a few nights, but still better than driving a car.

Freezing and near freezing temps - which tires?

I've run my Versys with a scout on the back and distanzia on the front, as well as with a set of PR4's. I couldn't believe the mileage I got out of the Scout, but wet and cold traction really lacked. The PR4's are amazing in wet, and cold only seems to effect them for the first few minutes until...
