    Headset radio range question.

Are you referring to sets like the Scala G4? If so, myself and several friends have been using them for a few years now... I forget the actual number, I think it was in the 1.5KM range though. Various conditions will affect this however, including whether riders all have the pop-up antenna up...

    Motorcycle Alarms

+1 for the Scorpio SR-i900; I've had one on each of my bikes and it has saved me mostly from idiots playing with/sitting on the bike when I'm not around. As for the Xena, I highly doubt insurance companies would consider a disc-lock system as valid. They mostly require "professionally...

    Canadian Springs Suck.

LOL, yeah, I've gotten a few rather shocked/confused looks as I pulled up to the window. One of the girls at KC Timmies couldn't understand how I was going to hold/drink my coffee, despite me pointing at the cup holder. She also completely forgot to charge my Tims card. (Oops!)

    Canadian Springs Suck.

Oh it is, just frustrating when it changes every 10 minutes like it did on Tuesday, lol. Seriously, it was like a blizzard one minute, then sunny the next all morning/afternoon. Made my decision whether to ride all day very difficult. :P

How careful is too careful? (Taking turns)

As said by a previous poster, using your body to lean into the turn rather than the bike itself, is good advice. Won't always save you on slippery roads or the like, but may give you the little bit of additional grip/balance you need to recover from a minor slip. Anything you can do to...

    Need a boot recommendation!

I started out in 2010 with the Icon Field Armor boots, but after a while I realized they were a bit too bulky and heavy, and were also causing me some back/foot pain as well as fatigue. Switched in 2011 to a pair of Alpinestars Web Goretex, and they've lasted me the past 2 years (I ride...

When is too cold to ride your bike?

The key is running lower tire pressure (which I actually didn't bother with in the 2011-2012 winter season with it being as mild as it was), but also riding well below your normal limits. Goes without saying, but you can't take corners at the same kind of speed or lean, and you have to give...

When is too cold to ride your bike?

I've ridden in around -25C before, on my Ninja 250R back when I had it, and a few nights on my V-Strom. Not the most comfortable, and definitely have to dial it down quite a bit vs warm weather riding, but for some reason I still enjoy it. As long as there's no snow or ice around. :P

Such a waste of a beautiful bike.

    Toronto Motorcycle Vloggers?

I've been lazily attempting to maintain a Vlog channel myself for the last year or so, haven't really done a whole lot with it though as I'm frequently busy. Here's my YouTube channel if you want to have a look. Hoping to be a bit more active with it this year. M13 originally used the P&S...

    I Saw You: V.2.0

I still love the stunned looks I get when I pull up to a Timmies drive-through. Cup-holder FTW. :P

    So.... Who's Riding This Week????

Went for a nice little 20-30' fishtail after hitting a long patch of snow/slush at ~30kph on the road today. Have to say, interesting experience. I'm used to the reduced traction during the winter, but this was the first time I wasn't paying attention and hit snow. Not planning on trying that...

    I Saw You: V.2.0

Just now, only caught a brief glimpse but heard you from a mile away. On something... loud, and orange, lol. Maybe a KTM or other supermoto though I didn't get a good look. Riding north on Birchmount near Huntingwood. A few minutes later, another dark supermoto passed by. Heading to a meet...

    Gorilla vs Scorpio Alarm Systems

I've had a Scorpio SR-i900R in each of my bikes over the years, as well as my GF's bike. Can't speak for Gorilla though I've known a few riders who had them. I've always thought of the bike alarms as more of an idiot deterrent than a theft deterrent/prevention measure; if a skilled & confident...

Laptop WiFi problems when on AC power

Thanks for the further suggestions guys; I haven't really been home much to try any of them yet, but I do have at least one possible further update/symptom. When I booted up tonight, I couldn't connect to anything on the web despite pinging the same URLs going through. For the hell of it, under...

Laptop WiFi problems when on AC power

Got the newest drivers as soon as I installed the card, so already eliminated that possibility; Win8 had built-in drivers so it also worked prior to updating. The hardware short is what I'm fearing to be the likely suspect here... Indeed, running the newest BIOS. My model BTW is the 14"...

Laptop WiFi problems when on AC power

OK, this one has me stumped. My new laptop (Asus VivoBook) generally works wonderfully, except for an issue with my WiFi. When on battery power, everything is fast and smooth; my 25/10 Fibe internet is fast as hell. When on AC power though, speed and connectivity turn to crap, and...
