Protection when camping on tour up north?

My mind was clearly in the gutter. I was thinking what is wrong with condoms, they provide decent protection when not camping up north, why can't they provide the same protection when camping?

Bike Knocked Over In Parking Lot... Driver Runs.

I was hit in a private parking lot in California, a woman backed her SUV right into me as I was stopped for folks in the crosswalk. Her insurance paid 100% of the repair bill for my bike. No hassles at all. FYI the cops would not come, said that they don't respond to accidents unless someone...

    last night 401 east

Thanks Rob, Lane filtering/splitting are indeed gray areas in California. On some of the motorcycle boards down there you will run into people being charged for doing so, all because they were asshats. Splitting while riding at 80 mph etc.

Where did you ride today ???

Not quite, but I have ridden my motorcycle in collar and robes :D Was parked at a bar in Long Beach after a charity ride, had a guy walk up to me, look at me, shake his head and go this is so wrong, so F**king wrong on so many levels - then he laughed. Yesterday I walked to church, after...

    It's FILTERING, NOT lane splitting!

Sorry they are not terms I have conveniently created. They are the terms used by the California Highway Patrol, an agency that is on record as supporting both lane filtering and lane splitting.

    It's FILTERING, NOT lane splitting!

As one who lived and rode in California, they are NOT the same thing. Filtering occurs when the vehicles are stopped for a red light etc. and you filter between the cars to the front of the line. Lane splitting is when traffic is moving, albeit slowly, and you ride between the lanes (but...

Chicken strips among Toronto sport bikes

My bike is a sport touring, does that mean I am allowed chicken strips when I tour but not when I ride it like a sport bike? If so, should I be alternating between 2 sets of tires?

Anybody know if there is a Ural demo day anywhere in Ontario this summer?

Dad relocates to Philippines to avoid paying support

That is true. They now consider you to have a greater household income and since support is based on a percentage of your income, the amount you pay just went up.

Dad relocates to Philippines to avoid paying support

When I first met my partner he was under a temporary support agreement. The total payments to his ex-wife were $100 more than he made each month. Of course this left nothing to live on. It took over 2 years, thousands in legal fees and the help of family/friends to help him through it and get...

    I Saw You: V.2.0

Today on the 401, you were going eastbound. It was around 12:30 or so - you were on a Black Triumph Tiger 955i. First one I have seen, other than mine (which is silver). I think we passed around the 403 exit or so. FYI the silver tigers are faster :p

    Just A Bit Further.

Two things. Coffee is a diuretic, water is a hydrant. Just drinking coffee will not stop you from getting dehydrated. Second is yes the pants/jacket do zip together. Different brands but still connect.

Boy, it sure is windy today

A couple of years ago I was parked at a Home Depot in Dallas. Wandering the store I hear a page "Would the owner of the motorcycle with South Carolina plates please come to the customer service desk". I head up there and they tell me my bike has blown over. Wind was about 50 km/h. Personally...

I need some help picking a bike for everyday use and touring..... 6'3, 225lbs

I am getting ready to sell my 2003 Triumph Tiger 955i solely because it is built more for a person your size, than someone 5'8" with a 30" inseam. It only has 20,000 miles on it (brought it up from CA with me when I moved back). Love the bike, very upright, comfortable riding - just too damn...

Dallas sheriff makes up charge against biker on Memorial Day [video]

I was in Dallaas when this happened. A bit of background. Last year a group of bikers (over 100) shut down a major highway in a tribute to a friend. They did wheelies, stunts etc. and caused major chaos for others on the roads. Police got word they were going to do it again this year, so...
