R1Style, did you ever get a retractable cover for your bike? I'm looking into them as well and found this thread in my search.

Rider down in Burlington on New Street?

A friend called to check on me yesterday when she saw what remained of 1 or 2 bikes that were scattered (on New Street near the library), with one on a tow truck. I can't find any info on it at all.

How do you deal with tailgaters? (or bad drivers)

Westbzero, I normally do a quick look over my shoulder to look back at the car. In almost all cases the car usually backs off a bit. I don't give them a dirty look, I just make it look like I'm doing it to see just how close they are. I think sometimes people don't realize just how close they...

Price for Jevco Insurance (anyone in my situation or was)

I've been with Jevco for 2 years and now that they've been bought out by Intact, my insurance has gone up $300.00/year. :( So far TD has given me the lowest quote, even lower than what I paid Jevco last year.

    Repair torn bike cover

I was thinking along those lines. Just wasn't sure if I could treat over a previously treated fabric.

    Repair torn bike cover

My bike will outside without any shelter for another season once I bring it out of storage. I use a quality Nelson Rigg cover that is waterproof. It has a small tear that I'd like to repair if possible. I will be buying a bigger bike this year, so I don't want to spend the dollars to replace...

Got hit by a driver on thanks giving in Brampton while raining.

Providing he gave you correct contact info. Did you get his license plate number at least? Not sure if you should have called the police, but I would have. It would be your insurance that covers the damages anyway, not his. You may have seriously underestimated the damage done. The other thing...

    Riding Advice

I rode around my neighborhood until I got bored. That's when I knew I was ready to get out into traffic. My first time out into "real" traffic was very early on a Saturday morning. A friend rode her bike to my place and she rode behind me until we got to a mall. We spent about 2 hours just...

Attention dude/chick who parks his Black Gixxer 750 (?) 2008+ Downtown (Shoei helmet)

I just don't take the chance that it will get grabbed. I either lock it, or take it with me. Same with my jacket. Not worth the risk.

    Crazy impulsive move today..

Congratulations on your new ride! I've had my eye on the Vulcan 900 (Like Skitta mentioned), so any encouragement would be really appreciated. Don't want to hijack this thread, though.

    Noob ride in Burlington

Sure, I'll go riding with you some time. The next couple of weeks might not be the greatest for me, work is busy and I"m working lots of overtime. I really like going out early on Saturday mornings and heading for breakfast somewhere.
