    Cooling Fan issue

Yes, there is a sensor. Mechanical moving parts items tend to fail first though, so carefully hotwire the fan to the battery and see if it runs. If the fan works, then you can start checking the wires and connectors. The sensor would be the last thing I would look at.

Question about minor nerve damage following fractured arm and ORIF surgery

I fell while skiing a few years back and injured my hand. Outwardly there wasn't any obvious injury, but I must have hit it in a way that damaged a nerve and i lost all feeling in my thumb. I could still move it, but like the poster above I probably could have put a cigarette out on it and...

    oil leaking from plug

You used a new gasket on it right? If you used one of the stock ones, it's likely a metal one. Try switching to a softer metal one (copper), or even a rubber one.

Question about cbiusa.com - Fedex shows my parcel is there, but...

They won't notify you of packages arriving unless you actually have a paid membership plan with them. You can email them, they are pretty good about answering back. Just send them your name and the tracking number and tell them you plan on picking it up on Saturday (or whenever you plan on going).

    What should I do!?

Depends on the bike. If you think it's a good deal, then grab it and you'll be all set for next season. Generally the end of season prices are usually lower, so you might save a few bucks if you don't mind storing it for the winter.

I need a recommendation for mechanic who knows carberators very well

If you're feeling industrious... you can further isolate the problem by putting some oil into the cylinder and then recheck the compression. If it comes up, then you likely have a problem with the rings. If not, the problem is likely within the cylinder head and valves. That'll give you a...

    What's "silicone sealant"?

There's special automotive stuff that's silicone based. Its sells as gasket dressing or gasket maker. Look in the automotive section, ask the staff to point it out to you.

I need a recommendation for mechanic who knows carberators very well

Like I said, unless your current carbs are physically damaged as in cracked or something like that then you don't need new carbs. If the engine is running unevenly, then there's a whole list of things to check. Additionally, your mention of bike not running on anything but 'Prime' might...

I need a recommendation for mechanic who knows carberators very well

I've heard good things about TO Cycle on Lakeshore and also Pro 6 on Kipling. Never dealt with them personally, but I mostly do my own work on my bikes. Did he say why it couldn't get rebuilt? Usually a rebuild with fix almost anything with a carburetor unless it's physically damaged.

Possible poll?: Road with the worst drivers.

Brampton... followed very closely by Markham. Not sure what it is about Asian drivers... and before you flame me, I can say this because I am asian! ;)

    brampton powersports what a joke

I've gone in for Yamaha parts a few times and they were always great at the counter. The couple of times I did try and call on the phone I got the answering machine, I left a message once but didn't get a callback but at the time it wasn't a big deal since I had to go in anyway. As for the...
