Low idle RPM, sputtering -- "Fixed" after refilling gas?

Like the mechanic said and by process of elimination I would keep the fuel pump in mind as a possible culprit. However, that one is pretty hard to pin down as it is only sporadically happening and without a fuel pressure gauge on the system all the time, you can't tell if it's providing enough...

02 Yamaha R1 very odd running/idling problem - video included!

My guess would be a vacuum leak. Check any hoses and carefully check for any cracks in the rubber boots or perhaps one not seated properly.

+1 Centre stand is the best way to go as it keeps the rear wheel off the ground.

Find Headlight Low Beam Wire - 2012 Honda Shadow Phantom

Wire colours vary for each manufacturer and to an extent each model... find a service manual online and look up the wiring diagram. Either that or unplug your headlight, use a multimeter to test. Black lead to ground and then red lead to find which wire gives you 12V with your low beam on.

    Upgrades Worth

Most times you're better off putting the stock parts back on and then selling off the upgrades separately... of course that's quite dependent on whether you kept the original parts or not!

Best gas for an older bike?

This part is correct and ethanol will absorb water which will cause issues when it just sits around for anything more than a few weeks.

Best gas for an older bike?

So if you have an older bike, you can't use any other gas? Are you going to go somewhere and run out of gas, sit on the side of the road because you couldn't get to a Shell? Most people run their bikes just fine on ethanol blends. Ethanol can harden older rubber parts like gaskets and...

recommendation on where to buy oem Yamaha parts?

Oakville Yamaha has always been good to me for getting parts in. Ready Honda in Mississauga recently picked up the Yamaha line but I haven't gotten any Yamaha parts from them yet... though they were always good when I needed Honda parts.

Best gas for an older bike?

Most bikes won't have any issues running with gas that contains ethanol as long as you use the appropriate octane recommendation which will usually be 87. If you find that it runs better on the Shell 91 that doesn't contain ethanol then by all means keep using that. Where ethanol will be...

Low idle RPM, sputtering -- "Fixed" after refilling gas?

If it's running fine now, it's very likely it was bad gas. Keep an eye on it... if it happens again then you can start further investigation. Also, it never hurts to run some Seafoam through to help clean it up a bit.

URGENT HELP! Bad Gas? Sputtering. I'm in the US and might not be able to ride home.

In the states, Shell Gold still has ethanol in it... I think pretty much all the major chain stations in most states have E-10 for all their grades of gas. Shell Canada is supplied locally so their gold grade is ethanol free... Shell also supplies the gas for Canadian Tire so you can get the...

URGENT HELP! Bad Gas? Sputtering. I'm in the US and might not be able to ride home.

Glad it all worked out. Some bikes can be particular about the gas they run, usually if you stick to name brand stations it'll be fine.

URGENT HELP! Bad Gas? Sputtering. I'm in the US and might not be able to ride home.

Seems likely if it ran fine on the Shell gas. See if you can find a place that sells Seafoam (Pep Boys or Napa), add the proper amount to your current tank and top it up with gas from a reputable station... and yes, stay away from random no-name gas stations.

    Cooling Fan issue

Next, start with the wiring. Clean the contacts, inspect the wires to make sure there are no breaks and then you can check the thermal switch. If you have access to a service manual, it will tell you how to remove and test it. If you don't have the service manual, google for one online...

    ZZR 600 Problem

How old is your battery? If it's several years old then it's likely due for replacement. If you have a volt meter you can check the voltage with the ignition off and it should show around 12V. When you're starting the bike it might drop to around 10V, if it's too much lower than that then...
