I couldn't agree more. Arguing on the side of the road will get you nowhere. You could end up with a bunch of tickets, you would have to go to court to fight. I'm sure you would have no trouble beating them, but it would still be a hassle.
Better to walk away and then file a complaint.
On a side...
Absolutely despise them! I'd never use them again, nor would I buy anything from someone who uses them!
"What can brown do for you?".....I'll tell you what brown can do for me....:thebirdman:
I'm not positive, but I've got a pretty strong hunch that the insurance company is going to have a problem paying out a claim, for any significant damage, without a police report.
Thanks for everyone's replies. I'll try to get the seller to use USPS.
As far as a US post box goes, the nearest border crossing for me is Ganonoque. That's a 2 hour drive each way. For me, it just wouldn't be worth the drive to save the fees.
Oops, I missed your reply while I was typing.
Interesting. 2 days wouldn't be overnight, but was it the air option that Recidivist was talking about above?
What was the weight of the package? I'm looking at a swing arm.
Thanks guys. That is what I suspected. The fees wouldn't even be that bad, if you knew what they were up front. I bought $85 worth of parts in the spring, paid $85 shipping with UPS, and then they wanted another $40 in fees after that. I'd never use UPS again. I just wasn't sure about the other...
Does anyone have any experience having parts shipped from the US, using FedEx? I've been schloinged hard with "brokerage fees" by UPS before and I'll never use them again. I'm looking at buying some used stuff for a project bike, and the seller is talking FedEx. I don't know if I should insist...
Thanks for the replies. It sounds totally doable in mid March. I am going to wait until a few days before I want to leave to book anything.
There's a possibility that I may be starting a new job soon, which means no trip at all in March.
I totally agree. The entire trip is up in the air, even if can get away or not. If I do get the chance, I'll make my decision, as far as where to go, at the last moment. If I get to my planned destination, and the weather sucks, I'll just carry on driving.
Yeah, I'm prepared for a long day of driving. I've driven to south Florida without stopping but that was several years ago, when I was a younger man.:(
I consider Deal's Gap to be one days drive. It'll be a long day, but totally doable.
Tremblant... in March?? Dude, I'm worried that it'll be too cold in Tennessee, and you're suggesting I go to Tremblant??? No need to trailer. I could just ride the bike from home.
Hmmm.... I wonder how I will carry my skis on the bike.;)
Thanks for the response. I've driven through the Virginias a few times and it does look like some nice riding. I think if I'm going to trailer that far, I'd prefer to go to the Deal's Gap area. I've never been and I'd like to see what it's really like.
Thanks, I did a bit of research into the Ozarks. it looks quite nice, but a fair distance to haul the trailer. It does appear to be a bit warmer than Deal's Gap, probably due to the lower elevation.
