I read the entire post. The reason I didn't highlight some is because they are irrelevant.
I went through not 1 but 3 rear-ending incidents, and didn't ever get into detail as much as you did, because the details are just so irrelevant. Regardless of relevant speeds, rear-ender's driving...
So you were attentive, but you got rear-ended and hospitalized, but the conclusion is what Roomie said (pay attention and not get rear-ended).
That makes sense...
Dude, I drive an SUV. Let me know your license plate and location, and we can run a (controlled environment) experiment and continue here after.
Promised results, %100.
Ask me how I know.

Once again, %99 of the overall motorcycle community filter (world), while %1 don't. Are we more likely to see videos of lane splitting incidents, or more likely to see rear-ending incidents ? How do you take these videos as evidence to anything ?
Also, the argument for lane splitting is not...
There may be other reasons to that, like what percentage of single vehicle motorcycle collisions is reported to DMV by riders ? There may be a trend in Cali, just as in here, which types of accidents are reported most vs which ones are not reported at all...
Consistently reporting filtering...
If there is a pressing necessity to keep the car strictly in between two lanes, then people will do so.
Just because we see people wandering off their lanes doesn't imply incapability. I admit it may take a few fatalities, hard learned lessons, and news coverages pointing to the fact that...
The reason for the distribution of the videos may be because %99 of the overall motorcycle population filters, while %1 doesn't. Which one of the cases should be producing more videos ?
And yes one can compare California, simply because they had to start somewhere. No one argues that filtering...
OP - hard wired is the way to go. Last thing you need on a trip is an extra charger and an extra item to charge at night. Wiring is really trivial I believe.
Google Maps is practically live.
Google Maps > Waze, in my experience.
I use it so often and its route suggestions and ETA predictions...
Sorry to answer your question with a question but please tell me, what extra danger does filtering introduce to the rider's safety that we don't already have today without filtering?
So, you are claiming that the rest of the world is in the wrong for allowing filtering, but Canada and (most of) USA know it better?
I always thought this was only an American way of thinking.. =)
Your nieces and nephews were accurate :)
I was recently listening to the host Wade MacNeil (Alexisonfire) of The Edge 102.1, and he was talking about how he has been literally round the world and seen concerts and shows of all kinds for years as a musician, and he added that he got caught off...
