You'll be fine. I ran a PP2CT up front and a PR2 rear all last year. It was mostly to make sure I had plenty of grip in the front, but I havent noticed any issues.

Well, if you only rode one, I guess you'd never know. The older bikes feel completely different IMO. Especially when it shifts the torque from being somewhere that you dont really get to see it all that much, to where you use it every time you ride.

I havent seen anyone ask......what year of R1. There are some big differences. They 01-03's are very torquey, while the 04-08 are more top end. I have an 04 that is geared and ride daily with a pair of 07's. The 03s are much more wheelie prone if you arent careful.

Im 6'6" and my first bike was a ZZR-250. I probably looked like the sail on a pirate ship coming down the road, but i fit ok. I currently ride an 05 R1 and its pretty good for comfort. Then again, i just seem to fit well on all bikes so your experience may vary.

Also, I found my RF-1000 and X-11 to fit differently. I have a classic intermediate oval shaped head, and all of the Shoei's fit me well. When it comes to Arai though, I can only wear certain models due to shape. Scorpion helmets fit me very well also.

Motomummy is probably one of the best places to get that kind of stuff from. They have decent shipping prices, great customer service, and Cory really seems to support the sport.

A top speed discussion involving bikes seems pointless when all of the big bikes are governed. Now if they are governed, there is absolutely no point in gearing them to reach 200+ mph, which makes the top speed discussion even more pointless.

I started on a ZZR 250. 6'6" here and had no issues. I would recommend an aftermarket wind screen thats a bit higher to help with the wind on the highway.
